These are a must have for harsh New England Winters!
I recently moved to Vermont from Arizona and I knew this would require new footwear. I did a ton of research and narrowed it down to the ever so popular Sorels, the duck boots, and these. I usually try to stay away from anything that "everyone" has, but I figured they were probably popular for a reason. I went to the store and tried on the Sorels (the Joan of Arc and several others) and they were so uncomfortable and I felt like I had weights on my feet. Then I tried on the duck boots and they were ok but I just wasn't satisfied. I couldn't find these in store so I took a chance on them and I am so glad I did!!I am writing this after actually owning and using these for several months, so believe me when I say that this is my favorite winter purchase. When paired with normal ankle socks they are really still warm and cozy because they are lined with that soft Sherpa material. I have even worn them sock less and was content walking outside to get the mail or take the trash out. However, when paired with the Carhartt Women's Extremes All-Season Boot Socks these are the warmest boots you will ever need. My feet actually sweat when I wear them both together in 20 degree weather. They are also so much easier to slip on then all the other boots I've tried on and with 2 impatient kids that was one of my favorite features! Also they look great with leggings, skinny jeans or regular pants. I was impressed by its' functionality and style. We actually just got back from walking around New York (my fit bit said we walked over 10 miles each day for 2 days) and these were the perfect shoes! They are warm, comfortable and I get endless compliments on them. I also wear them when playing with my son out in the snow and they have never leaked through. They grip really well in most ice and snow. However, they do tend to still be a little slippery on ice, but it's ice so I don't expect too much. My feet are always nice, warm, and dry and that's what matters most. They have held up nice. They don't look like they did when they were brand new but I think the scuffs and marks add character. I have attached a picture of how they look after being worn for several months. My only caution is to size up! I am normally a 7 so I went to 71/2 wide and it was too small. I returned them and got an 8 wide and I couldn't be more pleased. They were a little snug still but then stretched to the perfect width and size as I wore them (almost as if they were molding to my feet). I think they will last through many winters. I could not be more pleased with this purchase. Do not hesitate to take a gamble on these awesome shoes!

Super stylish AND comfortable!
I am a 9 but went up to a 9.5 on these and they fit perfectly.I bought and returned about 4 pairs of different boots in the $80-100 range for a winter trip. These boots blew all others out of the water and ended my search! They are fabulous! They are incredibly comfortable as soon as you put them on. I love that it has no heel and I've been walking around all day without any pain. They don't even need breaking in. The laces make it so that they fit like a glove around the ankle and leg creating the perfect support. I can tell they will last a long time, the leather is thick and durable. And they look expensive (I got the tobacco color) I've worn them twice and have already gotten many compliments on them. I love that the foot bed isn't bulky, but narrow so that they look more feminine. And the lining is extremely soft and cozy. Timberland is an environmentally ethical company so you are making a responsible choice with these boots as well.Great boot! Would definitely recommend.

Good looking boots but not the warmest.
These boots are very good looking. The color (tobacco) is a nice light brown, and the boots don't make my feet look big.The sizing is consistent with what you would expect in a hiking boot. Which means you should probably order a size larger than your tennis shoe. This is so you can wear bulky socks, and your toes don't get squished during prolonged wear. The toe box is a little narrow, which makes the boot look better but does sacrifice some warmth.I've warn these boots in various weather; from about 2 feet of snow to rainy sleet and dry cold. They are water proof, but once the outside gets wet, the inside starts getting cold. Even when dry, the warmth of your feet will really depend on how good your socks are. For example, while walking through 1 1/2 ft of snow and wearing 1 really good pair of socks my feet were fine. However, while walking arround on a dry, snow-free, 20° day in 2 pairs of cheap Walmart socks, my feet were cold. However, in the rainy, sleety, wet, my feet were cold even with 2 pairs of really good socks.Over all, I would definitely buy the boots again because they are waterproof and warm (with the right socks), but mostly because of their looks. If finding very warm boots is your main concern, I would keep looking. If your willing to sacrifice a bit of warmth for style, these are great.

Brilliant winter boots.
I bought these to replace a pair that I have had for many years and needed to be put in the bin. I bought my originals from a timberland store. Sadly no long available so very happy to find them here. My originals were a size 7 but I found them tight and can’t wear socks with them for the first year. I am very glad I went up half a size as it made a huge different. I can wear normal or thicker winter socks with these. I wear these for walking my dog through muddy woods during winter, I have bad circulation in my toes and these are perfect for keeping my toes warm. Very pleased with these boots.

Super warm and comfy
Best boots EVER!! Warm, very sturdy and strong. Look great, had lots of compliments. Use them every single day and nearly through their second Winter. I walk miles in them on roads and great on Dartmoor too. The boots advertised in picture are Mid, not Dark Brown. Great thick good saddle quality leather. Fantastic grip. The photo is them today, over 2 years old....darker than usual because of wax colour and doing a dubbin and hairdryer treatment and I’ve replaced laces which were chewed off by pup and can’t find proper replacements but the boots have somehow managed to survive mutliple attacks from our 1 year old mental chewy dog. Result! Would definitely ately buy again and we’ll worth the cost.

Top quality and comfortable
These boots are fantastic! I walk at least 5 miles a day (20 of a weekend) and need something hard-wearing, shock absorbing, waterproof and comfortable. I got all that with these Timberland boots. They are high quality and durable, as well as looking great. They're warm, and don't overheat your feet as long as you wear the correct socks. If they feel a little tight to begin with don't worry as leather gives after a few days wearing them in. As for you moaners saying they don't look like the photo, please remember the lighting reflection when taking photos. N if you want them highly polished then get some shoe polish in and get to work! Fabulous boots, highly recommend. Hopefully they'll last me a few years! Postage was standard, no delays and packed well.
