what is the expiration date? these would be shipped tosailors in the mideast for Christmas

I ordered mine on February 19th 2017 via Amazon prime pantry. Received it February 21st. The hostess box did not have any date on it. When I opened the box , the plastic wrapping around the Twinkies had "best by November 24 2016" printed on it. I took one bite and obviously it was stale and spit it out. Why there is no experation date on the outside of the box is probably against some government regulation. That Amazon sells it that way makes you question everything they sell, particularly food items.
