Gift for someone they are happy

The outside was scratched, inside isn't varnished in anyway and the edges aren't smoothed off meaning it was splintering. The inside of the lid to the glass jars was also splintering so I would have ended up smoking little bits of bamboo. Would have expected as much for a cheaper item but not for over £40!

Before I go any further, please be aware that I am impatient. I am writing this review without giving the company an opportunity to make good any issues I have. I am certain given the opportunity that they would appraise and resolve any issues that I may have had, that said … The box came packaged in a way that ensured zero damage. Bravo 👏🏼 not easy when you’ve a wooden box with metal and glass objects within. Unfortunately this does mean that the box was packaged with the defects that make it slightly impractical already in place prior to packaging. I read and digested the leaflet that said any cracks in the bamboo would be sealed and that the process to seal those would not compromise the box. However, I feel a poorly placed hinge being relocated and the recess for the misplacement of the hinge being filled, is not the same thing. I would have dismissed it had the lid of the box remained open when lifted. Unfortunately the relocation of the hinge, the filling of the recess and the (seriously it’s just like half a mil, no biggie) lining up of the lid and box itself have been compromised. Another teeny tiny whinge would be that the tray inside the box … it’s not a snug fit. So if you’re one of those really tense stoner type I think I would suggest that if you want a perfect product (if there really is one, I had a Viking box and the lock broke within days) that you prepare yourself to get involved with the replacement process or, roll yourself a joint and just call it a first world problem 😊

Bought as a gift unboxed Christmas Day and the box has a crack through the lid.
