I use these for modern metal in drop A tuning and they're amazing. Huge, crushing bass and good tension on the low strings, but the high strings are still light and loose enough for large bends and deep vibrato without ripping your callouses off. Having such a heavy bottom string allows me to set a reasonable action without the guitar rattling like a tin of spanners.A few of the bad reviews seem to have misunderstood what these are for... Yes, if you tune a .070 string to E, it's going to be stiff as an iron bar and completely unplayable, and it's probably going to turn your neck into a boomerang. These are strictly for drop metal tunings.One word of warning: .070 is a VERY large gauge (around 1.7mm). You will most likely need to modify your nut slots, bridge saddles, and possibly one of your tuners. I had to drill mine out with a 2mm bit before it would go through. It's an easy job but be aware of it!

Horrible sounding strings, my guitar felt like a fence although fence would sound much better.
