So I wanted to a cargo hitch carrier bag to use for our trip to Orlando to Universal and Disney which is approx 6 hours away from us. I refused to use the eggshell roof cargo carrier as I drive a Nissan Armada and accessing that compartment on the roof and putting luggage in it is a hassle I did not want to deal with. So I did some research and because I already had a cargo carrier I looked for a bag and went with this one because of the price point. And man I did not regret this decision! We literally just came back from our trip and low and behold it rained very, very hard on our drive back for almost 4 hours of the trip and yep everything inside was dry! No water or moisture inside! This carrier hitch bag is made out of vinyl/rubber so it does smell like you would expect vinyl/rubber to smell like. Think rain coat material except thicker and more durable. It zips up all the way around tight and then is reinforced with velcro along the top for an extra layer to seal it so no water or dust gets in.Now I will tell you this bag and even the others like it that cost more are just that, bags. The pictures a deceiving as when you receive it it's not square like it is in the picture it's literally just a large cargo bag that you can put your stuff in which in itself is not bad and would still work. But a quick YouTube search found a video on how to build a frame for this bag and others like it out of PVC piping which took less than an hour to build. No More than $25 was spent on the PVC pipe at Lowe's to construct the frame which fit perfectly! I have attached a picture that shows it with the PVC pipe in it and now it looks just like the one advertised in the pictures and maximizes so much more space. I fit 2 large suit cases and a stroller in it along with some other belongings. I would definitely recommend this bag to anyone looking to purchase one!***4 year update***After multiple road trips through various weather conditions the bag is still holding up! No tears, holes, and the zipper and Velcro are still holding tight! Although a little more weathered than before however that's to be expected with use. I will say the straps that came with it started to fray so I cut them off and used bungee straps to secure it which feel stronger anyway.

I used this to travel my business across state lines. I traveled from New Jersey to Florida and then back during that horrific snowstorm on the I-95 corridor.. On my return home, I was stranded in South Carolina awaiting for them to salt the road. There were absolutely no damages. I just dusted the snow off to ease the weight. Nothing was wet inside of the carrier. The material is super thick. It was absolutely durable. It was slightly larger than my trailer hitch. Worth the value. No need to rent a U-Haul in my case. The zipper quality was good. I hate that the lock is a combination. For the ladies interested . You got this. Take the stress off and purchase bungee cords if it will make you feel better. But the three straps worked fine. Good luck.Any more glowing words they’re gonna need to send me some coin or some merchandise to try out. Trust me I’ll run it hard. Worked well on my 2500 mile trip in the middle of winter. Kept the cargo dry and protected. I found that with such a large space it is important to balance out the load so it doesn't shift during transport.

Bought this because we took our small SUV on vacation and needed room for luggage and our little truck doesn't have a roof rack. Our hitch cargo carrier is 60x19 and even though the bag is an inch bigger it worked perfectly. We were able to get a 2' wide cooler, 6 carry-on size luggage bags, and a few backpacks into this bag with room to spare. It's made of a thick material that is a little unruly to deal with until you get some bags anchoring the ends but honestly, that's the price to pay to protect your stuff. I can see why some people have built frames for it. We drove through heavy rain and a snowstorm and put on over 4000 miles and it held up beautifully. It comes with two ratcheting straps but has 3 spots you can feed them through so I used another that I already owned to keep stuff from shifting around too much. The only moisture that was in the bag was from our cooler because I didn't have the drain fully closed. Everything else with it was great. I did cut some plywood scraps I had laying around to protect the bottom from gravel/rocks and I zip tied some pool noodles where the bolts that hold the carrier together are so that they would not wear holes in the bag. Don't know if either of those things were necessary but figured better save than sorry.100% happy with the purchase and would recommend.

Great bag for hitch basket. Keeps water and elements out. Comes with a lock, but if someone wants your stuff that bad, it will not keep from being stolen. Straps worked good, held bag in place as expected. I added a ratcheting strap for additional support. The bag is thick, and when full is shaped as a rectangular cube. Picture looks like it’s a hard box, this is not that. I have a Thule and I prefer this over the Thule on top of car. Much easier to get to stuff and lower wind noise and resistance.

Since we don't use our bag all the time, storage is important. It folds nicely into it's storage relatively small storage bag. On the other hand when in use this bag seems sturdy, waterproof and roomy enough for the cargo we'll put in it.

We purchased this to go on our trailer hitch style luggage basket as we were driving across several states while storms were expected. We were able to put four carry on size rolling suitcases in it, with room to spare.As expected we did run into storms on your journey and this back held up well! So very well, in fact, that none of our luggage get a single drop on it. I checked every time we got gas and everything was perfectly dry.It is a little stiff when you first take it out of the box, but that helped in holding it's shape once we got all of our things stuffed into it. I would definitely recommend this for anyone using it like we did.
