Cedar Canyon Textiles Brush Soap-4 Ounces

This brush soap was designed to be used with Shiva paintsticks . It can be used to clean stencils, stencil brushes, your hands and your craft mat. The soap I received was dark and slightly hardened near the top & needed to be stirred. I just removed the hardened area & stirred the jar & the product worked just fine. Really helps with clean up for paintsticks which can be messy. I would recommend this product for textile artists & mixed media artists using paintsticks.

Works great even if it's a couple of days later you clean your brush.

This cleaner is sold as being for "paintsticks" and "textile work". I don't use paint sticks and I don't work on textiles. I paint oil paintings using tube oil paints. I am a fanatic about wanting to keep my brushes clean because I use very expensive natural hair brushes. I have tried many solvents and brush cleaning products. My standard routine was get off most of the paint with oderless mineral spirits then wash in Murphy's oil soap, then wash with another popular brush cleaner, then rinse with water and let dry. I know use the Cedar Canyon brush cleaner for the last step. It is the BEST brush cleaning product I have found for cleaning brushes with oil paint. Not only does it clean the brushes extremely well but it takes a lot less time. And as an added bonus which is so imporant for my fine natural hair brushes it conditions the hairs because of the oil content of the cleaner - so when I shape them to dry the hairs are like new the next time use them! I would highly recommend this brush cleaner to all artists - not just those that do textile art.

(You can buy this directly from cedarcanyontextiles.com for $7.95. I don't understand this price for the same quantity. This jar has a wide mouth but is the same product.) The Cedar Canyon Brush soap is excellent for cleaning paint from brushes. Just dip in bottle and swirl on palm - wipe with paper towel and repeat as necessary. I do a final rinse with water. I use it for paintstiks (oil paint). I highly recommend this brush soap.
