This is a beautiful book but it would be helpful to have an age on the book somewhere for guidance. My grandchild is three years and this book would be better for when she is 4-5 years. All children learn differently I know, but at the moment it's just a bit beyond her understanding though she knows and can read the numbers on the clock. We are starting with what she knows and letting her explore the moving hands on the clock.

Hands on
We love these flap books. This clock one is good and varied with a hands on hand moving clock and more.

Lovely book
My son had just finished year 1 and we were told he needed to start telling the time. I looked online and found this book. It’s a really useful and fun way to learn to tell the time, it’s broken down step by step and the lift the flaps are fun for the young children.

Great investment
Our household is big fans of the Usborne 'Lift the Flap' books; and this has been a welcome addition. The book is split into 2 halves, the first dealing with analogue clocks and the second with digital. I had read that it is important to teach analogue first, so we have concentrated on the first half of the book so far. My 5 year old, who previously could only grasp the hour and half past positions was confidentially doing quarters and 20s, past and to, after just one reading. Building an understanding of telling the time has helped with getting ready for school in the morning, and pre-bedtime activities, because we are able to demonstrate how long is left for play (or how much time has been wasted refusing to put socks on...)

I purchased this book for my Nephew's 6th Birthday and he loved it. He was able to sit with me and we read it together and he loved the lift- the-flap to tell the time. I am sure he will learn to tell the time well and I am pleased that I could help him along the way.

This is an excellent book on learning how to read a clock and about measuring time. Lifting the flaps is so engaging and there is far more information inside than i ever expected. I would say this book is the most thorough I have found. I would pair this book with some manipulatives to make a nice learning center. The only con is the area next to the binding can easily be torn because there is nothing underneath to hold it in place. IN fact, mine arrived torn in the mail so I had to tape it.

Helps kids understand the concept of reading time.. in both 12/24 format. The only thing I wish is if it also had a dummy analogue clock in it for kids to practice.
