I’ve experimented with a number of carnitine products after seeing it listed among the ingredients in pre-workout supplements and being curious about its effects. I've tried nearly a dozen different versions - up until last year I always preferred liquid format, but a couple of ill options have changed my mind and I think they can be just as effective as some of my preferred liquid brands. Bottom line: for me it improves stamina during both weightlifting and cardio workouts. The impact isn’t dramatic but it is noticeable for at least several hours after taking it and I like that I can get that performance boost from something other than a stimulant (like caffeine) that may have trade-offs. In addition, the longer I've experimented with carnitine supplements, the more I see actual benefits from the metabolism perspective - I've definitely found that this helps with appetite in the hours after a workout. Previously I had a strong preference for liquid carnitine over pills (and the impact is generally quicker). I don’t know if the carnitine tartrate formulation genuinely has quicker uptake, but the effect is essentially indistinguishable from the liquid brand I was taking most recently. This is slightly more expensive than some of the other pill options I've tried, but still a much better value than liquid options which typically cost this much for a single month (instead of three months).

Pills were very discolored/ brown. (Have always been white when purchased in the past.) The item is not eligible for replacement or refund despite this, and item instructions say not to take if discolored.
