5-4-3-2-1: The Greatest Hits

I needed a version of 'Hubble Bubble ( Toil & Trouble) - which we altered to 'Hubble Bubble Toilet Trouble' as kids - because it was missing from my downloads of early Manfred Mann recordings and didn't seem to be available except on a C.D. I also ripped another four tracks from this C.D to my computer which featured Mike D'Abo as the new lead singer at the time. One of these was Mike's self penned classic 'Handbags & Gladrags' which I'd never actually heard him sing before in his own right - just Chris Farlow, Rod Stewart and The Stereophonics versions. So, was it worth it ?.....Yeah for the nostalgia it was.Eamonn

The CD is full of original recordings, lots of hits, all of them. I would say that I prefer the sound of these recordings on vinyl, the CD mastering seems very straight, lacking the compression and so-called warmth of the vinyl originals. Still, they can't half bang out a good song, and the vocals are great from both Paul Jones and Mike D'Abo. A great band.
