Rammstein: Lichtspielhaus [DVD] [2004]

Rammstein's brand of German Industrial is unique. No one sounds quite like them, and they don't sound like anyone else. This DVD collects their music videos from the original album, Herzeleid up to and including those from Mutter, their third album. If their music is in a league of its own, then so to are their videos. From the "golddust\cocaine" snorting Snow White of Sonne, to the Reservoir Dogs stylings of Du Hast, these videos are something special and unlike most music videos they stand up to multiple viewings. The DVD also contains a selection of live performances including a very early show that is less... explosive, shall we say, than their later shows. Also several of the videos have associated interviews and making ofs. These are more bearable than some making ofs as the band members are intelligent and hold strong views. Also conatined are some adverts, including a guy from MTV using the phrase, Techno Goth Sex Metal.. an instant classic! These videos are small pieces of art and deserve as wide a viewing as possible. Plus seeing any band depicted as Dwarves getting spanked by a stocking and suspender wearing Snow White has got to be good...

Rammstein, a german industrial metal band have been around for decades. Their music incorporates hard riffs and melodic orchestral music interjected with electronic sounds. Their live shows have everything you could possible think of, having seen them 3 times in concert now, they still surprise me. This DVD has everything, live performances, interviews and music videos. The menu is definitely the most inventive I've seen and even now it doesn't look dated. This is a good DVD for a gift if someone is new to Rammstein, it gives a feel for what they're like and their music without all the fantastic german craziness. If you've been a fan for a long time, then this will probably sum up the best bits of Rammstein prior to Reise, Reise. My favourite DVD of Rammstein and a fantastic buy.

OK my German is very limited, but the quality of these videos is excellent, great thought has gone into these, plus if you like industrial rock then this is the real deal - also some fine live recordings and (yawn) interviews. this is a visual treat for any rock lover

Fans of Rammstein are no longer forced to watch poor quality videos over the internet, or waiting for the start of a song on Kerrang! so you can press the record button, only to realise you've missed the first ten seconds. Now you can watch every released video of Rammstein up to and including the Mutter album. The videos are complimented by an amazing animated menu with cool sound effects. This must have taken ages to prepare! The DVD not only has music videos, but also contains a host of rare live performances across the world. If you don't like Rammstein, you won't like this. But even if you only slightly like them, this will make you love them!!

Brilliant music. Propelled by a rhythm section with the bombast and bluster of an infinite number of monkeys trying to write Shakespeare, this band ROCK! The videos are like tiddly-winks blown about by ancient hands and only now falling onto the deck of time, ready, whole and indivisible. From Du Richt So Gud all the way through to Feuer Frei, something is waiting to entertain you in a way one would never expect from a six-piece band who obviously love their visceral music with a passion. Try as I might, I couldn't tear my attention away from the washes of colour and strobing sounds of a beat machine gone haywire in such a controlled manner. Indefatigable. Definitely. Defeatable? Definitely not. Buy this DVD and know what it is to feel the cold hand of hard technorockmetal running its fingers through the zeitgeist.

Some good videos on offer here, though some lesser. The first video looks like a boyband vid, bit there is an updated version later. Not keen on video for stripped with Olympic divers. Vids for du reischt so gut and sonne and maybe du hast are very good. There is also feir frei but this features a lot of film footage from xxx. The live extras take this from being a poor value dvd to pretty excellent. Despite different venues, the tracks don't seem to be repeated on any of the seperate shows. The making of bits are good with interesting facts, just make sure to turn on the english subs.

Rammstein - Germany’s beautiful child and now it’s time for you all to see it’s magnificent art. I have seen all the full length videos that Rammstein have released and every one should be admired for it individuality and class. I recommend this DVD to anyone who loves to watch well directed videos and listening to a music that is straight from the heart. ‘Sonne’ and ‘Ich Will’ are worth the money alone, but this DVD is Packed full of the Classic singles spanning over nearly 10 years of brilliance. Buy It, and I promise you will not be let down.

Would have got four stars but I can't seem to access anything other than the 12 videos for the songs. Can't get the live show excerpts or the interviews....what am I doing wrong?

Le meilleur des clips hautement mis en scène de Rammstein sont réunis dans ce DVD. Un indispensable pour qui adore l'univers du groupe.

Come al solito il prodotto è arrivato anche in anticipo rispetto alla data di consegna prevista. Mi aspettavo una qualità video migliore. All'interno ci sono i video di alcuni dei pezzi più famosi dei Rammstein, spezzoni di alcuni concerti e alcuni making of interessanti. Peccato che non ci siano anche i sottotitoli in italiano altrimenti avrebbe meritato una stella in più.
