Can you take the spark part out of it?

Yes, you can. But I wouldn't get this if your older then ten. I like the idea of the skates but they aren't as good as a regular pair of skates that you could customize with sparks on the brakes. That's what I did.

Would you suggest these for a thirteen year old?

ABSOLUTELY, I am 41 and I had used them... lot of fun! So, a 13 years old kid should have a lot of fun as well.

Do they come in a pack of 2?

It's a box with a pair of skates, yes. It also comes with attachable flints that can be worn to spark, but don't have to be on to use them.

Yes. Adult size would be very tight, but with thin slim shoes I have worn them (size 11 man). Size adjusts no more than an inch width I'd say.

I was a little worried about how these would work, but my 10-year-old son got the hang of them within an hour. He loves them indoors, we haven't tried them outside.

I bought these for my 8 year old boy that is normally very active and coordinated. He plays soccer and basketball. He is athletic. He also skates a lot on regular skates and in-line skates. He had a very hard time with these. I don’t know why. He was very discouraged as he really wanted to go go go. It took a lot of practice and falls. Definitely buy a helmet and body armour guards for your kid if you get these.

My 10 yr old son loves these skaters, the sparks are really bright and balancing on these skates took only an hour to balance and learn. It's worth the money spent. a good purchase for 10 yr old and above.
