MABIS Spectrum Dual Head Lightweight Stethoscope, Purple

I've read several reviews from people who say they can't hear anything with this stethoscope and it doesn't work. I have no idea why not. I reveived mine today and it works perfectly. I am not a doctor or work in the medical profession but I wanted a stethoscope to listen to my own heart and automonbile engines. This stethoscope has a two sided head and the smaller head is louder. When using the larger head I discovered by accident if I put my finger over the hole in the small side it makes it much louder. My only complaint is they fit very tight in my ears and are uncomfortable. I used it to listen to my own heart and my dog's heart and can hear the heartbeat perfectly. For those who say it doesn't work some possible reasons are 1, You have bad hearing 2, You don't have the stethoscope over your heart. 3, you're dead and don't know it yet. Try putting your finger over the hole in the small side and try it again. There is no reason why it shouldn't work. I don't have a more expensive medical grade stethoscope to compare the sound quality to this one, but I have no problem hearing my heartbeat. Update....I discovered quite by accident that the metal tube on the chest piece that attaches to the tubing rotates. You turn the tube for whichever side of the chest piece you are using. This is something the average person wouldn't know and explains why some people said they couldn't hear anything with it. It doesn't come with any instructions so there is no way of knowing that the tube in the chest piece rotates. If this stethoscope came with instructions it would get much better reviews. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this stethoscope and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. No regrets and money well spent.

Purchase these for my kids they've been asking for a stethoscope so that they can listen to their own heartbeats. Probably should have known better with the price of these. They do not work at all. There's no sound coming out of them. You can even tap on the bottom where the platform would be placed against your heart and you can not hear anything. We even tried tapping on it we thought maybe there was a plastic piece over the top. They don't do anything.

These are very sturdy and work great. The ear piece is a little tight but will stretch out.

I bought this for a Halloween accessory, and it was cute and matched the outfit. However, it claims you can actually use it like a stethoscope. You can't really. The large part that a doctor would normally put on your chest (or wherever) needs to face away from your body (the little side needs to go on your body) but the acoustics are so poor. Please only use this for dress up lol!
