Noodler'sInk Piston Fountain Pen, Pequot Ahab

I like its strange looks but not the smell. It handles well and the flow is excellent. Do not play with the piston once you have filled the pen though; it could get messy. The large nib is pleasing to the eye and has never been scratchy. Mine had not been assembled correctly. The reservoir had not been screwed down fully and ink leaked past the O ring. I am glad I retrieved it from the bin.

I am a fountain pen collector, and to be clear no founain pen snob - i have jenho's which cost £5.99 and are excellent. This pen feels wonderful in the hand, and has a really good ink capacity, however the flexi nib is really not very flexi and it is the only one of my pens that leaks ink into the cap. I have to wipe it clean before using it. It has now been relegated to a draw. For people looking for a genuine flexi nib you really need to go for a vintage pen.

I love this pen and this is my second I own. This is an outstanding product based on a person whose philosophy is to support a product that lasts long and gives a lifetime value to have a writing experience for every artist and a writer who uses it. And a value for money and the ability to service with the least cost replacement in maintenance is also well considered. Noodlers pens and Ink is based on this philosophy and they are very cost effective and never uses or support the ink cartridges which is a costly way to use the Expensive pen on expensive cartridges. I bought their roller ball fountain pen and I am amazed, with Nathan's ides why he wants to introduce this NOODLER"S CONRED ROLLERBALL pen to the writing community and the concept behind his every pen. Every Noodlers Ink comes in 90ml (Smaller and then the bigger 3.5 oz to more bigger ) as he wants to sell at a cheaper rate. Which is very sensible to use ink cost effectively. The last thing about how it writes is, it writes better than any pen in my all pen collections ( my show pieces of pens I might call them I own many Pilots, Pelikan, Sailor, Platinum, Montblanc, and some more unknown pens. ) I agree all the pens have a definite purpose in your collection but this pen is on top of all and it really helps me to improve writing experience no doubt.

As mentioned in other reviews, resin has a distinct smell. The pen sometimes leaks into the cap when left for a couple of days, the ink gets all over the nib and the hold. The nib, although very wet, works nicely from the start.
