Inside of lid is SS.These are super great stills for experimenting with small batches. I highly recommend these stills. Just plug them in & let them go!

How does this seperate heads, hearts, and tails?

You would need to make a call when Heads stops and Hearts begin. Don't worry about the Foreshot, that just leads into the Heads and that's where you have to smell & taste. When the Hearts are done you should be getting towards 20-30 ABV. You would have to make a call here and stop the run..

is this appropriate for grape pomace to make grappa? (which is very dry) or does this require the input to be a liquid?

Yes, it only works with liquids. You would need to ferment the grape pomace and strain out the fruit so that it is just a liquid. Fruit chunks should never be placed in the device. The output will be very high alcohol, almost without flavor. The standard Air Still could be a better option for you.

Perfect!

Does exactly what they say it does, and you can "set your watch to it". Exactly 1 hour to 1st trickle, and 1 more hour to tails. I got 170+ proof from corn mash, with no mess or stress. Love it!

High test hooch!

My banana mash wasn’t ready when this still arrived so I got a box of wine and distilled it. Got about 200ml of over 100 proof. I think I’m gonna enjoy this a lot.

Exactly what we wanted (it was a gift). Only problem was it arrived a little late. However, after seeing the problems with people stealing from delivery trucks, and the volume of deliveries, that is completely excusable. Happy holidays!
