A cheap useful repair for worn hooks on a sander. Easy to fit and hold the snading discs well.

My old backing pad was the Black and Decker original hook and loop pad. On a very hot summers day after prolonged use it came unstuck from the moulded rubber pad and travelled about 15 feet like a frizbee. I removed the remnants of the original glue and associated dust with methylated spirits and allowed it to dry. The new hook and loop backing pads arrived from Germany within a few days. I could tell immediately that the glue on these replacement pads was strong as the shiny protective paper sheet was well fixed. Once applied to the rubber backing pad, my new hook and loop backing is firmly attached. and the sanding sheet attaches firmly to it. I cannot vouch for its performance in very hot weather, but in normal British conditions it is performing well. I cannot say how these replacement pads would adhere to old pads after sanding down the remains of . damaged hooks. If I need to replace this German hook and loop pad with the spare I have bought, I shall apply a little heat with a hot air gun and try removing the hook and loop pad, rather than laboriously sanding the damaged hooks. then clean the rubber pad again with meths.

Worked well as first but this pad was ripped off by (the excellent) pad saver that they do when I was changing discs - be careful.

My orbital sander pad had lost its grip, new pads are around £25, this stick on pad was £6 and TBH I thought it would not last two minutes, but its really good and sticks to the existing pad really well, just a note of caution, instructions tell you to sand old pad base down to a smooth finish, this is not really possible as you start to hit the rubber base and it begins to break up...just sand as smooth as you can and it sticks ok.

I purchased many of these and good to buy in bulk because of the postage. These are great replacements as opposed to buying wasteful discs you have to throw away later. These are thin and the adhesive strong. Don't know what I would do without them.

Super um für kleines Geld dem Schleifteller neues Leben einzuhauchen. Hält bisher auch schon sehr lange. Klebt super auf dem alten Schleifteller. Die Haftung der Schleifblätter ist auch super. Somit den Zweck erfüllt.

Na de zool van de slijpmachine goed te hebben vlak geschuurd, de goed klevende nieuwe haak-en lusvervanger erop bevestigd. Na vele schuren nog steeds intact.
