Works perfectly! Super easy to use, just a power switch and two buttons for light and black light. The template that comes with it makes it even easier to check bills. Seems sturdy enough for regular use.

I’ve worked for a bank. Devices like this are common, though not as inclusive as this model. We’re trained in detecting fraudulent bills, but sometimes we just want another source for validation. Because of my experience, I’m going to be a bit pickier than your typical reviewer.Pros: it has a UV light in the bed so you can see the embedded stripes through the bills. The watermark light is bright and helps to clearly see the subtle details of the bills. The UV lights are bright and work really well. Having all three light tests in the same unit is very convenient. When you use the US Dollar template over the light, it is fairly accurate and helps to check that the bill’s amount matches the embedded stripe.Cons: the “Align Bill Here” line is misleading. You cannot depend on the color band chart in the front of the detector if you align the edge of the bill with that line. I’ve included pictures where the stripe is aligned with the check-line to show how the left-edge of the bill does not align with the front, but centers fairly well on the template.As long as employees are using common sense, I’m sure that perfect alignment won’t matter too much, but I’ve worked with some OCD folks in this field and this could irritate them. I’m fine with it, though.Is it worth the $60 price tag?Well, counterfeit test markers can dry out, LED flash lights can be dim in the ambient light. If you are not trained regularly on detecting non-counterfeit bills, and you handle money a lot… or if you’re like me and just like a second opinion to validate hunches every now and then, I’d say this is worth the investment. I’d gladly put this up near a drive-through teller who wanted to do that extra security checking. Mom and Pop shop keepers in a questionable part of town might want this (along with some training on how to handle the situation without getting hurt) as would business that could handle large cash transactions (such as jewelers).

AccuBanker has been around for decades servicing businesses and banks, large and small, with cash-handling products. That said, this is their cheapest detection unit, definitely entry-level, and intended for infrequent use. It's better than nothing.That said, it DOES work, but using it can be tedious and exacting. Other reviewers have dived into the weeds on this, so I won't be repetitive. Aligning the money or documents can be somewhat of a learning curve, but it can detect counterfeit bills from any country according to the company's website. I tested it with some real US and Canadian (even Ukrainian!), and they all passed.I don't know how many times I've seen grocery store clerks in the US squinting at a $100 bill as they tried to shine the ceiling lights through it to look for the security strip. When traveling internationally, I have seen even the smallest businesses use something like this to confirm US bills are legit. For $60, this is likely a good investment for your small business, as accepting one counterfeit bill would pay for this.Others who accept much more cash will need something more robust with an automatic bill feeder from AccuBanker or a competitor.4 stars for what it does and is intended to do at this price.

This is great for confirming currency. Fast and easy to identify bills, ID's and anything else that has UV anti counterfeiting details.

This device makes it fast and easy to check for counterfeit money and cards. The tech included in this device makes sure nothing passes unless it’s real. Doesn’t slow you down to use it. Can’t believe I went so long without one of these. I have told many of my friends to get this detector because it has done well for me. Highly recommended.

This unit is compact and somewhat portable as the power is 12v with the right cable can work on battery as long as adequate power is supplied. Otherwise the supplied adapter is used to power the unit in an establishment or home. A blue light button turns the unit on and when the currency is inserted the correct markings as noted on the label shows, the bill is genuine. This unit works well as described.
