YAMAMOTOYAMA Sencha Green Tea 200 g

Good green tea for use in a pot of infusion ball,improves the flavour with a couple of fresh mint leaves

I'm very happy with this ,and about to order some more to replace the one I've almost drunk. I don't live near a chinese supermarket (re other review),and paying £5 on the bus to get to one would rather negate the point. This does come in a lot cheaper than my local shops ,even compared to lower quality teas . This is a typical Sencha, and has a good nutty taste .Sencha is basically the best, and sweetest of the affordable green teas to my mind.

One of the best Sencha teas around. I love this tea depth of flavour and full rich colour.Good value. One spoonful will make 4 cups.Remember to let the water cool for 10 mins after boiling to have the tea at its best.

This tea is listed on the Amazon website as "Authentic Japanese loose leaf green tea" and given a Japanese sounding brand name of "YamaMoto Yama". However, it is a very low quality green tea with fragments of leaf so small it is almost powder. It is also labelled on the back of the packet "Product of USA", so much for being authentic. It does not look like Japanese Sencha, it does not smell like Japanese Sencha and produces an insipid brew that certainly does not taste like Japanese Sencha. It might be the sweepings up from the Sencha makers floor, but that is as close as it gets. Very cheap, but also very, very nasty. The attached photo shows genuine Japanese Sencha on the left and the YamaMoto Yama tea on the right.

Very fresh green tea with a great taste. This is my second order of these loose leaves now :)

Taste of asia, amazing. Light yellow color.

Nice taste enjoyed the mild flavour.
