Q: Why is there no photo showing the back of the plate and how it contacts the outlet terminals?

Hi there! For some reason, we can't attach a picture to our responses but you can currently see the power prongs on the 6th picture of this listing. Just so you know, the two insulated power prongs on the back are equipped with a conductive rivet designed to make contact with and pull power from the side screw terminals on the outlet. :)

Q: Do they ever turn off or are they always on?

They are light sensitive. On at dark and turn off in day automatically. If you have a truly dark place they will just stay on.

Q: Do they also come in horizontal form?
