Despite being plastic they look pretty good against the old brick and are not really noticeable. Mesh is is pretty solid and should be more than enough to keep out mice. Was pleasantly surprised. Initially I ordered 7 and installed them, then followed-up with another 4.All of them have been screw-fixed and they seem robust enough to keep mice and insects at bay and to withstand the elements.These have replaced stainless-steel mesh sheets and although they cost a lot more, I would say they look far more elegant.The screw holes within the units are fine, but it is difficult to insert a pen through them to mark drill locations on the walls. It was simple to cut a piece of cardboard to the size of the units, place it behind one of them and push a small nail through each of the screw-holes to pierce the cardboard.
