LawnMaster OcuMow 16 Vision Robot Mower & Strimmer Set & 2 Batteries, 300m2

My first machine never moved 1 centimetre. The replacement mower is great. The machine was initially good at finding places to beach itself but not its fault and quickly sorted and this potential problem is covered in the instructions. It is light and easy to carry to the lawn. It is a good idea to carry the battery in the other hand to make it even lighter. No more running a cable out of the house and walking up and down all over the lawn pushing a mower. I can get other jobs done while this mower does its job. Each battery lasts long enough for my needs. Charging doesn't take long anyway. The camera seems to work pretty well detecting grass and the sensors do their job finding obstructions. You hardly hear it when it is working. You aren't likely to upset the neighbours even on a quiet afternoon. It is easy to clean afterwards as not much clings to the mower. I don't let the grass get very long and this means you hardly notice the cuttings. My lawns look a lot better even after a few months of use. The plastic strimmer is fine but the line is sadly not the best quality. I found the auto feed wouldn't work properly until I unwound some line and rewound it. The plastic was sticking to itself. The strimmer is light to use. I would still recommend you buy it with the mower as it also gives you a second battery. Others have named their mower. If I did this I would call mine Patience! Not meant to be a criticism. It is a relative bargain in the robot mower scene. Others are much more expensive. Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchase and am glad I took the advice of another owner who told me how good it was. He wasn't wrong.

Starting with things to remember. Starting not intuitive: 1 Press on til bleep, wait a longish while til lights stop flashing, press random ( forgot this!) Then press on! 2 Watch it for the whole of first mow. After an hour of perfect function got bored and went off for G&T anf came back about an hour later. Cut completed but poor Henry had got stuck and dug a hole trying to get free (see photo). The excellent instruction video we found says ' don't worry' just put some 6cm canes in at 10 cm intervals and Henry's parking sensors will pick them up. The great advantage is no guide wire needed (these were reported in other reviews as being vulnerable and taking a day to put down, join if broken). And no need to have a lawnside power supply for a charging garage. Unless you plan not to live in your house its not necessary. With Henry you charge the battery indoors in 1 hr) and keep him in any small dry space. Suggest cutting the lawn with your old mower first removing grass cuttings, and then put Henry to work at 20mm regularly. The grass cuttings are so fine you cant see them and act as mulch giving a fine looking lawn (they say!). Finally, although he freaked out our 2 dogs into a frenzy of barking, he is nearly silent, so as long as they cant see him (gate covered over) no barking! The getting stuck bit means the rotating blades are on the ground and deactivated even tho wheels continue to attempt rescue. Says they turn off completely after 20 mins of stuckness. As you can see from the video Henry pauses from time to time in the cut. This is because he comes across a patch of brown grass and his green grass seeking eye has to check with his ultrasonic sensors that he hasnt reached the edge. Then on he goes. I watched the random cut to see if I could detect a programmed pattern or memory to help him complete the job, but he's clever, but not that bright! Still he is already a treasured family member and at a very reasonable price. Oh and dont forget to wipe his bottom.

Really enjoy watching it cut the grass it’s very quiet and takes a very long slow way round so you have to be patient. I tend to do something else while it’s out. It will drive over the square of astroturf I put down to join up lawns so it can move itself when it wants to. The spot cut works ok. The camera detects grass and the sensors detect objects so if a plant is leaning over grass it won’t approach. It fails to cut about 10 inch round edges which it will cut in spot cut so you need to do this with a strim or add some Astro turf along edge to get it right to edge. Had no problem with it getting even into ill defined borders as height of our plants stops it on sensors. Partner doesn’t like the cuttings being a mulch as she says come in on our feet but I like the eco side of it as less waste in bin. Grass is now shorter than it was so stays drier on dogs feet. The dogs barked a bit at it out patio window but gradually lost interest. I don’t let the out at same time. Overall like it better than my petrol mower. Would like it to have an edge cut mode so it would cut in a straight line spot cut works on edge but only a little bit at a time.

Probably the best garden buy ever. Put the mower out every few days and it just gets on with it by itself so i can get on with other things while it works. Need to have a pretty flat garden with a good defined edge to the grass and it will just motor on for hours on a single charge. (Tip) no boundry line needed so strim the edges before letting it loose as it stops before the grass edge which means it doesnt cut the edge.

I’m extremely disappointed with this purchase. It is sold as a “drop and go mower” It simply does not live up to that catch phrase. Unless that is you include the fact it constantly wanders off. It’s says area of cutting of 300sqmt is no where near achievable. My grass area is 100sqmt and it could simply could not cope with it. See attached photo which took this mower over five hours. Yes I am aware my grass is quite long. That said it doesn’t mention that you have to purchase another mower prior to using this mower. Additionally and this is the BIGGEST ISSUE you have to constantly watch it and correct it ad it keeps wandering off. It simply does not recognise the difference between grass and path at least 40% of the time. You have to be present to enable you to follow it around so you can keep putting it back on the grass area. It is such a shame as the build quality appears to be excellent. Sadly it needs more attention than my extremely mischievous three year old grandson. Just as a point of interest the seller expects the buyer to pay the return postage which DPD asked for £35+. Which is a bit rich considering I would not have the inconvenience of the whole drama if the product was “as described and for purpose” which this mower is not. As for the sellers customer service, well it’s also extremely disappointing to say the least. Their response to my emails requesting support never came. Which lead me to having no alternative other than to return the product. Their attitude to the product return is heavily weighted in their favour. Your consumer rights are simply ignored. I would NO RECOMMEND this seller to anyone. If you really want to purchase this type of mower I would suggest no recommend you look elsewhere. The whole experience for a disabled buyer is terrible.

Lawnmower bot is fabulous. Needed to put a couple of bricks in places to stop it falling down a ditch but it's really good at detecting obstacles and changing direction. Still got the blades on highest level but impressed so far. Battery lasts about 5 hours. Easy to swap in and charge. My husband is delighted he no longer neds to spend hours mowing the lawn. Trimmer is fairly average but no complaints.

So far I have used it twice and I am impressed. My back garden is just under 50m2 and it took the mower around 3hrs on its first cut to do the whole lawn. On the second cut it took just over an hour. If you read the instructions first it does state to put it on spiral in the centre and then it goes onto a random cut from there. This works so much better than letting it just go off and cut from the start. On my first go I didn't read the instructions. I also put it straight onto 20mm cut and the guide states 40mm on first cut and then drop it down. But it handled it fantastically well. My front garden is only about 8m2 and the borders aren't really defined but it has managed to cut that and do a decent job again by using the spiral function first. My grass has never looked so good. Yes it is annoying to have to trim the edges with the strimmer but its quick and a lot less physical than using my traditional mower. After reading reviews I was dubious about buying but once it went on prime I thought I would give it a go. With my normal mower I couldn't cut the grass at this time of year but this works brilliantly.

This is an really good robot mower, I have a parkside on on my front lawn but it can't handle the steep slope as well as this lawnmaster. My lawn is very bumpy too and it cope perfectly. I first tried it on fairly long grass and it handled that ok too, so far very pleased to report that it works really well. I bought the one with two batteries and a strimmer as it is good value, the strimmer is also very good to go round the outside edges where the mower doesn't reach. Reccomended.
