Hansshow Model 3/Model Y Kick Sensor Automatic Power Trunk Model Y Car Electric Tailgate 2020-2023/Model 3 2021-2023

I typically don't have time to write reviews, but I want to help others as this product has no reviews yet.I purchased the Model Y Kick Sensor, intending to install it on my 2023 Model Y. It seemed like a useful accessory for when your hands are full with shopping bags. Although Hansshow has its own website and a coupon code for a cheaper price, I chose to order from Amazon to have the backing of AZ, given that it's not a US company.The parts and required tools for installation were sent correctly. They even included a helpful color instruction manual. However, I found a more useful installation video on YouTube. Based on the video instructions, I decided to hire an ex-Tesla tech for the installation since it was not a DIY task. The wiring had to be run from the trunk to the front of the car to connect to the relay. Taking numerous panels off to route the wiring was necessary.Fortunately, my technician was experienced with the Model Y and performed the wiring as instructed, even doing a neater job than the person in the video by hiding wires and parts to prevent rattling. It took around 3 hours to understand the installation process and connect the wires.Unfortunately, after completing the painstaking installation, I discovered that the kick sensor was not functioning. The technician diagnosed the issue and determined that I received a defective kick sensor at best. Since I wasn't doing the installation myself, I immediately sought assistance from the seller through Amazon. However, there was no direct means of communication, so I reached out via their WhatsApp number found on their website. I provided them with the Amazon order number as requested and informed them that my technician was awaiting further instructions.I was told the respective engineer was off that day, and I did not receive any further response. As the technician had to leave, he reassembled all the panels and departed. Consequently, I am now stuck with a non-working aftermarket part in my car. It's evident that the reliability of this product is hit or miss and has been highly disappointing.Notably, I have already paid a significant amount for the laborious installation, and I cannot afford to hire someone again for any potential fixes the seller may provide. I have also purchased the Door Sill Protector with LED Light from the same seller. Unfortunately, this product is also not functioning as intended, although it is not as significant of an issue as the kick sensor. I will leave a separate review to address this specific issue.
