How can you tell if the filter is turned on. We are not sure if the electrics were successful. Seems to be no light etc to indicate if power is on.

The pump pushes the water through the filter so it’s always on as such, the electrics are for the UV light, there is a small window in the top section if you look directly over it you should see a faint light blue glow which tells you it’s on, it’s easier to see when it’s dark

Is it possible to run two pumps into this filter box ?

There is only x1 in-let on the filter box. I would say though try it with one pump, I have had ponds for many years and this is the best filter I have ever had.

Do you need to turn the pump off when cleaning the sponges by turning the handle.

Personally I do turn off the pump when turning the handle because that is what the instructions say. However, there is nothing to stop the handle being turned whilst the pump is on. But, the divererter valve needs to be in the drain position otherwise the dirty water will be pumped back into the pond. I fix a hose to the outlet and drain it in a nearby hedge but it can drain onto a garden or soakaway.
