Great Value
Works as advertised. The wattage and light maps are darn close to accurate. No hot spot, with the light spread uniformly across the canopy. Flawless build quality and it was packed in a plain brown box. The box included the light, hangers, power cord and a cable for controlling a second (slave) light. That’s not all, the user instructions contain useful information about light levels and hanging distances. Comparing this to a more costly 3 bar 150W light, the XS1500 Pro out preforms it. The heat output is identical to the board and bar style 150W lights I’ve been using lately. Best of all, the girls will love you.

Amazing Light
This is without a doubt an amazing grow light. We are truly living in a golden age for tech. I remember people spending ten times more on a light of this quality not that long ago.The build quality on this XS 1500 Pro is something to be appreciated for sure. Mine runs almost cool to the touch after 16 hrs. Some people seem to dislike the dimmer switch not being variable but I prefer a fixed range. The dimmer has a nice knurling to it and a very firm and solid action. It is a very high quality design and build. The lens design does make for a more even and wider coverage area. I am using this in a 3x3 tent with fantastic results.I did have to raise the height from the recommended 11in up to 18in though. At the recommended 11in it was too intense and I was getting signs of stress on leafs especially on seedlings. My results were 25% at 18in for seedlings, 50% at 18in for veg, and 50% at 12in for flower. I was amazed that I didn't need this light above 50% all the way through. Not only is this an amazing producing light, but it's an absolute cost saving one at that.We are spoiled with the technology available to us these days. This is an amazing light at any cost. For most, this would be all the light you ever need. Highly recommended

Sehr gute verarbeitung, Top Preis!

Purchased for use with succulents, a sundew, and coleus plants
This review is for the 2024 XS1500 Pro model. I picked up one of these during a lightning deal about a month ago. There's a lot of options for lights like this one, and I was initially not interested in this model because it doesn't have LEDs evenly distributed across the panel. While doing more reading about the many other lights I ran across some information that explained how this model uses lenses to produce evenly distributed light. This was a very appealing feature as most lights have a very small strong center light zone and then a steep falloff around it. I then found a review video that did a pretty thorough analysis of the light distribution, tested with a high quality light meter, and the results were rather impressive. After having the light for a while, I have to say that it has been great. I run it at 50% power for ten hours per day, about ten inches above some succulents, coleus seedlings, and recently added a Cape Sundew. Despite getting not nearly enough sunlight through a north-facing window, with the addition of this light all of the plants are doing very well, with many showing sun stress colors. They are getting between 800 and 900 PPFD, depending on where they are located under the light, according to the Photone app.Mounting the light in wire shelving was very easy. The only thing I wasn't sure about was how to hang the ratcheting carabiner and rope, but I managed to figure that out. The included hardware would also allow hanging in a couple other methods. As others have mentioned, the light does not properly turn off unless you unplug it, have some other switch in line with the power cable, or connect it to a power strip and turn the strip off. I am using an outlet timer (ASIN: B014SGCN88) that I bought locally, and so far this arrangement has worked great. The power supply does get toasty even at 50% light output. I've not worried too much about the heat radiated from the light though as I am not using it inside a tent. It is drastically less heat than would be coming off of an incandescent bulb, that's for sure.So far the biggest benefit from using this light has been that since the light is so evenly distributed, I don't feel like I need to worry much about where the plants are positioned underneath it. I'd say that the PPFD charts that are shown in the product listing are pretty accurate. It really opens up a lot of area to put plants, rather than having that one small section with high PPFD, and trying to figure out which plant(s) need to be in that area.UPDATE ON 11-Aug-2024: I bought another one of these, received a few days ago. Viparspectra appears to have made some updates to this model. The brightness knob has been changed from 25% increments with 5% as the lowest setting on the first light I received, to 20% increments starting at 0%. So you can now turn the light off using the brightness knob. The power cable has changed from a non-detachable cable coming off of the same side as the brightness control, to a standard desktop computer-type power cable that plugs in on the end opposite the brightness knob. The daisy-chain setting has been moved from a switch to a spot on the brightness knob. The power supply on the first light did not have any branding on it, only model info and technical specs. This new one has Viparspectra branding along with the tech specs. The light output appears to remain great. So I'd say this revised version of the light is a good improvement, especially for those people who would like to be able to turn the light off on the brightness control.
