OraCoat XyliMelts 40-Count Mild Mint – Fast-Acting Dry Mouth Relief & Saliva Stimulator for Day or Night

I have been struggling with dry mouth for quite some time now, and I was starting to feel like there was no solution. That is until I stumbled upon OraCoat XyliMelts Mild Mint. These little discs have been a game changer for me, providing me with long-lasting relief from the discomfort of dry mouth. First of all, I love the mild mint flavor of these discs. It is just enough to freshen my breath without being overpowering. The taste is pleasant and not at all medicinal, which is a huge plus for me. I also appreciate that these discs are sugar-free, so I can use them without worrying about damaging my teeth. The texture of the discs is also really unique. They adhere to the inside of my cheek or gum and slowly dissolve over time, continuously releasing xylitol to help stimulate saliva production. This slow release means that I can experience relief for hours on end, which is something that I have not found with any other dry mouth product. Another thing that I love about these discs is that they are completely discreet. I can pop one in my mouth and go about my day without anyone even knowing. This is a huge bonus for me, as I have tried other dry mouth products that were so obvious and uncomfortable to use in public. Bought on the advise of the specialist for my Sjogren's dry mouth. I use them on nights when I am sure I am going to wake up in pain with a dry mouth. They feel like you are eating way too much sweet stuff in the night but they really do help stop that searing pain. Repeat purchase and also sharing with friends after they have been out drinking as it really helps them with that post-party dry mouth the next morning.

Finally, I’ve found something that lasts longer over night, but I do think you need teeth to get the best and safest effect. The idea is to park the tablet between your gum and cheek (I go for top rearmost molar). You put the flat side of the tablet against your tooth and the rounded side towards the cheek, otherwise it’s uncomfortable. Once parked, I find that the tablet does not move. I do not find it uncomfortable, despite its size (1.1cm wide and 5mm deep) and it’s hardness. It lasts at least 5-6 hours which is better than the other xylitol product on the market that I’ve tried in the UK. Because a Xylimelt melts slowly, it doesn’t stimulate too much saliva, which is better for night time. The mint flavour is mild and so not too disturbing. If the tablets lasted 8 hours, I’d be even happier. I haven’t tried two at night, on the basis that this might be overkill with no extra benefits (surely they would dissolve at the same rate…). I don’t use these in the day time because they are not as unobtrusive or comfy as the other softer xylitol saliva stimulant and they are more expensive.

Actually super impressed with this item! Had choking concerns as obviously having a tablet in your mouth overnight doesn't sound ideal, but it worked fine and adhered well to the spot I'd placed it. Already a mouth breather due to other health conditions but new medication had caused a very dry and painful mouth, with upkeep of fluid making no difference, it's painful and can affect oral health and not nice waking to a painful and crusty mouth and throat. I could manage before with warm squash before bed, but after my medication change this was taken to an extreme and I couldn't manage. All the gels I've tried haven't lasted more than 10 minutes but somehow this lasted all night (still being present when I woke 2 hours before alarm) and was completely gone when I woke to my alarm. The mint flavour isn't too minty, just a gently hint which I enjoy. Packaging and delivery was all good. I'm a side sleeper most of the time so can get away with one tablet on the upper side, but they advise two tablets overnight. They aren't too big and once you find a comfortable spot to place it, then you hardly notice it there. Overall, a very good product for a fair price when you acknowledge how many you get. Well worth trying.

Game changer, really helps with dry mouth in the morning. Can be hard to stick to guns or moves but still works a treat.

I tried these as I get very dry at night. They worked well but only for a couple of hours. Not the 4-8 hours as advertised. I liked how they stick to your gums. They taste minty and not too bad.

Easy to use. Fresh minty taste. Lasts for several hours. Great relief from dry mouth at night.

did not work, left mouth sticky

I'd been using Biotenen gel for dry mouth but found both the texture and taste unpleasant, not to mention the fact that relief never lasted me through the entire night. My dentist gave me a sample of XyliMelts and it really works great, providing relief all night long. Bonus: the mint flavor is pleasantly refreshing. I went ahead and ordered a 2 month supply from Amazon after trying the dentist's samples.

Waste of money

It does the job! I don't wake up with dry mouth anymore! Much much better than how it was before!

Works well but, it gave me a stomachache. If you are sensitive to Xylitol, this isn't for you.
