Great socks!
Just perfect for what I wanted. Warm, well fitting and comfortable. And good value for money.

Ideal for everyday wear.
Ideal for everyday wear. For Pipe Bands or Clan Balls something more elaborate would probably be expected, but that is another matter. Length overall 28 inch 72 cm which is enough to go clear above my knees and then fold down twice to below. Material seems 'wool rich' and is heavy enough without being obtrusive - - I can get my usual size 8 hard shoe on on top. More or less stops up on its own, though colour garter would probably be worn for all day wear anyway. As I am now wearing a kilt around the house in preference to jeans, I will have to get some more for the wash. The first batch were washed in the machine at 30C and came to no harm.

Cheap and reflected in the fit.
Cheap, and this is reflected in the fit. For kilt socks I found them to be rather short in length. Not only that, the fit was not supportive as most socks are. They were rather loose and moved around on both my foot and my leg. Of course, we are all different and your mileage may vary. From a personal perspective, I’m going to have to buy some that will work for me.

perfectly adequate
I'm not Scottish nor did I need them for wearing with a kilt. I'm an avid hiker/rambler/urban explorer and simply needed the extra length to tuck my black army combat trousers in through muddy areas. I didn't want gaiters, just something I can quickly tuck in trouser ends when needed and they are perfect for that.
