CAMPLUX Tankless Water Heater Electric 6kW at 240 Volts, Instant Water Heater Under Sink Self Modulating Technology, White

Compact unit fit easily under kitchen sink. Weighs almost nothing and has a handy slide-on wall bracket for quick mounting and a filter washer included. See pic for size reference. It's small but mighty.Running at 1.2 gpm, inlet temp water at 74 degrees rose to 120 degrees in less than 10 seconds. Using two bbq thermometers for calibration, I found the displayed water temp to be accurate within 1 degree. It will keep the water at a consistent temperature down to a .25 gpm trickle. I can't vouch for the durability, but so far it has been a perfect kitchen sink solution since my other tankless water heater is about 30 feet away in my shed with underground lines and requires a stronger 1.0 gpm flow to stay in operation.Also, the installation instructions do not mention it, but the Camplux product info page states that on initial operation a 15 minute warm up period may be necessary. On first try I almost thought my unit was a dud and flipped the breaker and double checked my wiring. All were correct. Even with the self-monitoring code display this is not mentioned. After a few minutes, I was good to go and it's been smooth sailing since.If you are installing this unit you MUST use 10/2 with ground feeder wire hooked directly to a 2 pole 30 amp GFCI breaker for safety's sake. Not a cord and socket. 12/2 wire is not sufficient to carry 30 amps and water mixed with electricity should always have ground fault protection. Blue and Orange big box stores charge around $120 for 50 ft of wire and about $125 plus for the breaker. Amazon has the same wire for around $70 (look around) and an Eaton / Cutler -Hammer (BRN230GF) 2 pole 30 amp GFCI breaker for about $59 (Sept 2024). The breaker fits most newer power panels except for Square D.I am very happy with my purchase and wish I would have made the upgrade sooner. Will report back in a few months to hopefully say the same!

Had an issue with the water heater, called first they asked me to check out a couple of things I did. They checked with their engineer. A day later they texted me saying a new unit is being shipped, got it the same day. Installed it and is working fine. Speedy good communication that’s what I call great customer service.

I bought the refurbished unit, saved a couple bucks. It had a small leek that appeared to come from within the unit but simply stopped after a few minutes.?. So as of now it works great.HOWEVER.the power cord is in no way rated for 220/240V it gets hot when in use! I installed the unit in my garage on a block wall so it's not as terrifying to think about. But under my sink, I would run a 10G wire.

A little sad because we got a faulty product and it took awhile to figure out it was in fact the water heater. After speaking to customer service/ the seller feeling much better they did everything to help us! Now have another camplex water heater set up and going thank you

Heater indicator says its on but heater does not start. Not with higher or lower pressure water. only used it 1 month....

The manufacturer does not have any documentation online for this model, and the documentation shipped with the product is limited. This unit does not work if the flow rate is below 0.2 GPM. It does not modulate (adjust heat based on the required temperature rise). It’s either all on or all off. It will not work to heat water in a domestic hot water recirculation loop with a high efficiency Grundfos recirculation pump because its flow meter introduces too much restriction (head pressure) into the line. Look for a modulating unit if you are using a demand heater to heat your domestic hot water recirculation loop. Good luck finding documentation to switch this unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I couldn’t.

I am glad I purchased this hot water on demand unit. It works extremely well and appears to be a higher quality machine than others on the market I have researched. I certainly would could purchase it again.

Exactly what we needed until it died. When that happened the company was very quick and cooperative and replaced product when needed without charging shipping charges or hassles. We definitely recommend.

First impressions of this CAMPLUX tankless water heater were very positive; the unit felt well made and had a good quality finish to the cabinet. The front panel has an LED display for temperature and a dial for setting.It is critical that you ensure you have sufficient amperage available on your main power and room for sufficient breakers. This 27kw model required 3 breakers each at 40 amps for a total of 120 amps. This means if you are replacing a conventional electric hot water tank you will need additional wiring.As far as installation goes it was straight forward. Once the electrical was upgraded there is a simple water input and output to connect and it was ready to go.The performance is excellent, meeting all household needs - two bathrooms with showers - washing machine - and dishwasher.Heat up clearly is very fast; as always water has to travel from the hot water source to the fixture, but once the line has primed with hot water it provides and "endless" supply, unlike our old tank that would drop to cool after two good showers.Overall Verdict?Great water heater with the added benefits of higher efficiency and less space consumed. I highly recommend this product.
