I must admit I am a bit intrigued by the responses that explain a longer stove-top method- mostly because the way they explain how it gets thicker as you slow cook the oats... got my mouth watering just thinking about it! **Q: I don't understand are these instant or do they have to be cooked on the stove** A: You can convert "old fashioned oats" to "instant oats" by putting it in the blender and just hit PULSE 2 times. Not too much or you end up with oat flour. Not too little or it's too oaty. It's like the 3 bears, you have to do it "just right". **Q: How much glysophate ppb (pesticides) does this have on average?** A: 1300 ppb which is more than 10 times the amount a human should ingest. If you call them they will brush you off and say that it’s “legal”. I could never knowingly feed this chemical laden pat to anyone. Quaker is a despicable company. If you or someone you love likes these oats try substituting Bob’s Red Mills Organic Quick Cooking oats. My daughter has celiac disease and she has a hard time finding gluten free foods that she enjoys. This is one brand that she enjoys. The flavor she finds really tasty. It’s easy to make. Instead of using water , I use plant based almond milk which is also gluten free and it makes it rich and creamy. I tried it myself and I don’t have celiac disease but have IBS and it really tastes great. It is not too sugary and you don’t have to add any sugar to enhance the flavor. I find it cheaper to buy it in bulk this way than to buy it in the supermarket which only comes with 6-8 packets. This comes with about 30 packets. More of a bargain.
