Sizzix659985 Bigz Die Hexagaon 1 3/4-inch Sides, Set of 1

Haven’t used it yet, but it will save me a lot of time when I’m quilting and card making

Perfect for quilt making, makes it really simple to get the same size every single time, also makes cutting much quicker.

Arrived about an hour ago, just before lunch. Had never used this type of die before so searched out a tutorial on the internet. After that, within about 20 minutes I'd cut sufficient 1.5" hexagons to begin my project. It took longer to organise the paper than to cut the shapes.The die is layered with a cutting plate at the base, the die (cutting face up), paper or fabric on the die and, lastly, another cutting plate. I managed 6 pieces of paper, folded, which produced 24 hexagons with just the one roll through. No more than a few seconds.Seriously impressed.

I had always resisted buying dies for piecing shapes, only buying the appliqué shapes. However, I needed to cut loads of hexi papers, and am glad I changed my mind at least for this one as it cuts 4 at a time. I bought the 1" die first for cutting the papers and read in other feedback that the 1 1/4" is just large enough to cut the fabrics for the 1" so I bought this one too. Having said that they cut paper fine, but fabric is not such a clean cut - it leaves a thread in the corners - unless it is attached to some sort of stabiliser e.g. Bondaweb.

Perfect cutting for paper hexagons for English paper piecing, used with the Sizzix Big Shot. Takes minutes to produce a pile of perfectly cut, accurate hexagons compared to cutting by hand. Can also be used to cut fabric, but haven’t yet tried that as waiting on the next size up to be delivered, but suspect it will cut liberty fabric like a dream. Highly recommend!

Used these for making fabric cut out for a hexagon quilt. Cut well through 4 layers of fabric. Pleased.

Used this to death - I almost need to replace it already. I've made two kingsize quilts cutting every single hexie from this die.......... that's near 4000 hexies! I think that's value for money. I think it would last much longer too if I wasn't so heavy handed using cardstock to cut my hexies in bulk! It handles it very well though.

These sizzi x big dies are perfect I can't get my square to come quick enough would highly recommend
