Nitram 700306 Abrasive Stone for Charcoal

I hesitated and dithered on buying this for nearly 2 years of using Nitram charcoal. I’ve previously used the cheaper, basic sanding blocks for artists. This is by far superior and give a precision level sharpness in seconds. It’s double sided, with 2 levels of coarseness. You get 2 spare pads so really good value. I should have bought this 2 years ago!. Don’t hesitate if you can afford it. You won’t regret it.

Dry happy with the sharpening block, works a treat giving room and with a little care wow never seen charcoal with a point like this. 11/10

As a tool, it's very practical. Is it worth £10? Maybe not. While I swallowed the bullet and paid £10.70 for my first one, I hesitantly thought I could buy a spare one for travel. But over night...boom!! the price nearly doubled!! So, no, thank you! I refuse to be exploited. Thanks for profiteering from Covid-19, Amazon!! So I made my own and it cost me zero money. It works as effectively and it looks nice. I even stopped using the Nitram stone now. That said, the Nitram piece is very good and I don't think you'll ever use normal sanding paper having used this one. It provides a generous surface for sanding charcoals (especially Nitram ones) and lasts for a long time. It comes with two spare sanding pieces, as well. The surface may be too rough for graphite, though.

Good quality tool

Nice to have but not a necessity if you can get something cheaper. The quality is good. It looks really nice. It comes with extra pads, too, which you can buy separately if you ran out. Since I hardly do charcoal drawing, this will last me a long time.

Worksreally well, I currenntly use nitram charcoal so. I can't state whether its as good with charcoal from other brands yet. 2 extra blacksandstone patches are included in the package.

C’est un bon produit, de bonne fabrication. Il est livré avec des surfaces abrasives de rechange. Permet de récupérer et réutiliser la poudre de charbon taillé dessus. Bref, c’est le genre de produit dont il est difficile de regretter l’achat.
