Good for stopping 'hot spots' on your cooking pot as it disperses the heat evenly, so great for simmering.Mine arrive a bit damaged and bent though. I would also add that it works well for a cheap solution to the hot spot issues you can get with gas stoves.

What a great bit of kit - where has this been all my life? You know how leaving a sauce or stew on the lowest heat of the smallest ring still builds up enough heat for it to start 'galloping' so that you have to watch it like a hawk to stop it sticking?With this diffuser I cooked a beef stroganoff on the hob, and it just seethed gently and certainly didn't stick or boil over. With the lid on the pan too.Be aware that the diffuser does discolour; I've only used it on very lowest heat too. But as far as I'm concerned that doesn't matter in the slightest. It IS light but it's not designed to carry a weight; you wouldn't attempt to use the diffuser handle to lift the pan, for instance.At that price, very good value too :)

Looks good and works well but it’s hard to stop the handle fitting from burning.It still works but obviously looks a bit of a mess.

Very poorly made item. Handle bends really easily and the diffuser doesn't sit flat on electric hobs. Handle chars from the heat. First time I washed it, the entire diffuser rusted. Threw it straight in the bin. Avoid.

Arrived rusty but not worth returning. Used to shield tagine from gas heat which it does.

Gets warped under heat. Not suitable for purpose.

Have used them for years and brought one for a friend who was impressed with it.

I've had Spanish/ mediteranean cookware before which has cracked, this ensures the heat spreads evenly. Works every time, love it.
