Autel Evo 2 6k. One of the best drones I now have in my fleet!
The other review on this Evo 2 6K was pretty spot on. I did notice while flying that it is a bit more sensitive from your movements on the controls, so you just have to get used to it if you are used to flying DJI drones, you will notice a jerky motion sometimes if you’re moving your controller around too much, but even while I was doing that on my first couple of flights, getting used to it, the video turned out buttery smooth. The gimbal worked excellent and depending on the settings you’re putting your video on, there really isn’t much need for all that much editing. It looks great straight out of the box. The 6k camera shoots incredible videos and photos and is not hard rendering videos on my Mac afterwards. I also have an iPad Pro 2020 and I’m looking forward to seeing how it works on rendering videos on that. I heard it’s great! I own 3 DJI drones, Inspire 1, Mavic 2 Zoom and a Spark. All three of those drones are great for different needs, shooting real estate videos mostly, but I’m finding that I’m using this Evo 2 6k much more at the moment because I’m very happy with the videos in the pictures that it shoots and it’s still very compact, and the rugged bundle is very nice. I would definitely recommend the rugged bundle, because you get 3 batteries in total which is plenty, and the case that comes with is very compact, rugged and very useful. It keeps your drone well protected at all times and it looks very cool. I couldn’t imagine throwing this drone into a soft bag or backpack and just letting it rumble around in there, not knowing what to expect when I take it back out. If you’re thinking about it, pull the trigger, you will be happy with your choice.

Purchased almost 1 year ago and still love this drone!
This purchase was for my brother Rudy... This drone is used for both professional real estate photography and videography. A few months afterwards, began using this drone with the Autel Smart Controller (both V1). This drone is amazing! First of all, the fact that it informs and warns but does not restrict flying in areas that require Authorization is priceless. It is always required to get authorization to legally fly in these areas. Anyone who has dealt with DJI knows the issues that we law abiding remote pilots face. Here is one example from my experience. I had to wait a couple days for authorization for an assignment. I then arrived on-site, and powered on the DJI drone and got a warning from my controller that there was no SD Card. If I recall correctly, I turned off my drone to avoid any memory card issues. I then reattempted to fly and I lost my authorization. I also lost track of the number of times that DJI restricted me from flying in areas that did not require authorization or the authorization process was time consuming and failed. With my Autel, I get authorization ahead of time and get peace of mind that once I have authorization, my drone will not question me. Autel, please do not go the route of DJI with No-Fly Zones. My only complaint is a minor one. I wish that Autel had many more intelligent flight modes that matched or exceed DJI. I am forced to learn how to do many cinematic moves manually. While I agree that manually flying looks more natural and is a great skill, sometimes I don't want to spend time manually controlling my drone. Some jobs don't require that level of cinematography. Sometimes, those intelligent flight modes incorporate nicely. And sometimes, I just want to have fun with my drone and miss that type of help so I can focus on quick fun videos especially when the weather is a bit colder for my fingers. I do enjoy flying this drone and have no regrets selling my DJI and replacing it with Autel for professional Real Estate Photography and Videography. I love the variable aperture, the sharpness, and the colors that it produces. I do wish it was a bit smaller for travel purposes but the size and weight helps with wind resistance so it is a good compromise. I know that this is a review for the drone and not the smart controller but buying a smart controller makes this so much more fun when you don't worry about the setup and device issues before every flight. I wish the smart controller supported the VR flying though :< I don't really fly very far so I can't comment on reception. But I will say that I once had an assignment to record one of the tallest skyscrapers in the Chicago. So, I was in the middle of downtown Chicago and I flew as high as the antennas. The video transmission was very choppy and I got nervous about reception but the video recorded flawlessly. If you are considering Autel I definitely recommend it. I am very happy with it!

Good drone that's easy to use
I purchased this drone because I liked that it could be flown anywhere without restrictions. This was very important to me because I was considering this product for work and wanted to see how it stood up against what we currently had. For starters, it delivered on its promise to fly anywhere without geofencing restrictions. The next thing that was great was the ease of use. The controls are intuitive and simple. You can just link up a cellphone to the remote control dock and fly the drone. The picture quality is great and video is fantastic too. The battery life in operation is standard; about 40 minutes flight time or 30 minutes under windy conditions. My only gripe is that the battery depletes quickly (about 50%) just sitting in the case over the course of a week. Overall though this drone is a good buy. It's performed so well that I am trying to get a few more scheduled in the budget for work.

STURDY AND RELIABLE AIRCRAFT
I been a Mavic user for some time, but the specs of the EVO 2 Pro capture my attention. I bought and recommend the rugged bundle. It came in a great rugged case with 2 extra batteries, propellers, charger and SD Card. The gimbal cover has been improved and is easy to remove and replace. It has all the help you need to fly with GPS, Vision, RTH, Automatic Take Off, Accurate Landing and a pause button to stop a mission or any automatic fly modes. The all-around collision avoidance is a piece of art. The gimbal can be changed for the Infrared or the 8K, making it nice base drone with growing possibilities. No geofencing is a plus to fly in everywhere, but it alert, not forbidden, when in a restricted zone. Even without the inconvenience of flying zones of DJI, I follow the rules and ask for authorization. Uses the Autel Explorer for your mobile device but the controller has a nice screen and you can fly without the mobile phone or tablet, something not found with the Mavic 2 Pro. The Autel Explorer gives you more options and flying modes, but for a fast and relaxing fly, you don't need the phone. It synchronizes with AirData and keep all the information of the flight, the drone, the batteries and even a map of your flight with all the information, telemetry and animation. The great customer service tells me that Autel Robotics listen to the customer and can wait for the new releases of the firmware. Update 10/8/2020- One thing I want to trust of my drones is their the capability to return home when something goes wrong or simply lost communication with the aircraft. I sent my Evo 2 Pro down a valley for 3 miles and when the battery level reach critical levels, It came back making a perfect landing. It won my trust. The capacity of creating autonomous missions just with the Autel Explorer saves time. To complete my equipment I bought the Autel Charging Hub. It doesn't take too much space and charge the batteries in parallel or sequential. Great addition to my equipment. Very satisfied with the Evo 2 Pro.

This is the Drone I want
Excellent Drone. I flew one in 2022 a V2 and had never flew a drone, They are a Stable flying aircraft that keeps you from running into objects, just stay away from wires as they are hard to detect. I have put this in Ludricious mode and flew like 45mph and suddenly stopped it on a dime, the unit handles flawlessly. And it maintains controll. It's Stabile in a stiff wind as well. This does everything I want it too do, it will fly so far you have to bring it back because it will go out of sight. This is a great, reliabile unit that takes awesome photos. P.S. They have great Customer Service. If you have a problem, tell them about your issue, just give them a little bit of time and they will get it done for you.

Very happy with his drone, best flying camera I’ve used yet!
Picked up the Evo 2 pro 6k about six months ago after seeing my friends older version one, I think the thing that caught my attention first was the fact that there is no Geo fencing or necessity to be connected to the Internet to fly. When I went shopping and found that they had a version two with option for a 6K camera with a 1” sensor I was even more excited as I often record in low light. The price tag of the package I chose with three extra batteries and a hard case was a little steep but after reading about the long list of smart features along with 12 sensor obstacle avoidance and 35-40 minute flight time I was hooked! So far the only things I don’t like are how sensitive the obstacle avoidance is in instances where I would like to have it adjustable so it could get closer to objects while going slowly and not have it stop. Also the way the controller feels in my hand with the phone attached, it’s a bit backheavy. As I am a finger and thumb on the joysticks pilot, it makes it a little bit difficult to hold onto the controller and access the gimbal angle control. Having a balancing neck strap attachment point would help, although I believe there are aftermarket clips for that or ways that one can 3-D print them. Other than that I’ve been very happy with the Evo 2 pro 6k and I’ve recommended it to many people, the video I’ve been getting from it has been epic and very happy making for me! Thank you Autelrobotics!

I Love My EVO II
Before I purchase the EVO II, I watched hundreds of drone review videos. I choose the EVO II because it is simply the best drone for the money. The camera is amazing! The battery life is fantastic! It's easy to fly and will give you great videos right out of the box. If need be you can swap the camera to one with a Thermal Image Using the Live Deck you can broadcast video images to a satellite location within a few miles away from the point of the controller. There is a wide range of camera settings within the App that allows you to change settings such as the ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, 1X - 8X Digital Zoom, Color, Multiple Resolutions, Frame Rate, WB, Auto Photo while videoing. FYI - Gimble Tilt is a thing of the past as Autel has updated the app with an extra Gimble adjustment setting. As updates become available I have seen a few more Flight Modes and a couple of tweaks to others. Autel has also been producing educational videos which is great for new users.

A good product, but a bad experience.
This is a beautiful drone. Well designed and built. Unfortunately this particular drone from this particular dealer only worked for a few easy flights. On my first professional flight for a client, the camera gimbal started swinging wildly around. After landing and restarting, the camera was not responsive at all. Not even connected so it would show up in the App. I'm sending it back for a refund rather than go through all kinds of hoops to get one that works. I've used Autel drones off and on for about 15 years. They've always been a decent but costly way to go.
