Way too salty!
Even after soaking in cold water multiple times, this product remains too salty. Also, as a result of the soaking process, no matter how gentle, the flowers fall apart. Waste of money.

sakura-cha to sakura seasoned rice to sakura-an
as a tea for special occasions, this one is saltly - even after soaking. However, white rice under a steam basket and letting the cherry blossoms soak on the upper basket, allowed the rice to pull/absorb much of the salt. The resulting components are 1) rice in fragrant & seasoned cherry blossom liquid that can now be prepped by adding more rice to make cherry blossom seasoned rice and 2) pat-drying the cherry blossoming petals, chopping them, and folding the chopped cherry blossoms into shiro-an to make sakura-an for desserts or mooncake fillings.

Brine
This was too brine for me. I didn’t know what to expect, the color was vibrant, and it looks good in terms of texture. I wouldn’t purchase it again because of the salt content

So salty they aren’t edible
I have ordered and used and eaten these plenty of times from different places. This particular brand is so salty, It’s not even edible! Complete waste of my money I’m very unhappy with this purchase.

Pickled, so they are very, very salty—be aware before purchasing.
Be sure to rinse and soak these blossoms multiple times before using in your recipes. The pickling process is necessary to keep the blooms safe for food applications, but you’ll need to take extra care when prepping them! I soaked twice for thirty minutes each time, and rinsed, and they still imparted a very salty flavor to the simple syrup recipe I prepared. They are quite beautiful and deeply flavorful—I’m sure they will be great once you’ve soaked & rinsed them properly.
