Peace of Mind!
The media could not be loaded. I am so grateful for purchasing this camera! I had a Garmin on my last vehicle that recorded video while I was driving. Years ago, my wife got hit by a truck driver. The driver immediately lied and said it was her fault. If it wasn't for people stopping and saying the truck driver was at fault, the Truck Driver would have gotten away with lying. Ever since, I make sure I have a camera in my vehicle for people who are dishonest.Upon unboxing, I was amazed how small this camera is. It's a lot smaller than my Garmin was. It's great so that it does not block your vision while driving. I installed mine on the right side of my rear view mirror. I don't even see it when I am driving. The camera comes with a 12v cigarette lighter plug. Unfortunately, my truck does not have a cigarette lighter as many new vehicles do not. I was not going to use it anyway, as I wanted to hardwire mine into my video mirror. Hardwiring worked like a champ! No issues with voltage with a hardwire kit. While waiting for my harness to come in the mail, I was able to plug the camera into a Mini USB plug connected to an outlet plug. This allowed me to learn the camera without it being in the vehicle. The menu is very straight forward. You will need to purchase your own Micro SD Card. I had one laying around. Not a problem. The camera will format it for you. The instructions detail all the settings very well. You will not have any problems figuring out what everything will do.I am going to jump ahead a bit on one setting that I found is very important. The loop setting. Mine was set to 1min, which at first, I thought that would be more files built up on my memory card. There is a choice between 1, 3, and 5 minutes. I set mine on 5 minutes because I thought it would be better to find the videos. The downside to this, is your videos at 5 min are almost 1gb. If you want to transfer the video from the camera to your phone, it takes a long time to transfer. If you want the option for faster transfer speeds, you will need to set it at 1 min. It can take about 1 min for every 1 min of video to transfer. So a 5 min video will take about 5 min to transfer to your phone.Once I figured out all the settings on the camera, I downloaded the app. It was very straight forward. Easy to set up. To connect to the camera, you hold down the microphone/wifi button on the camera. It will activate the camera hotspot. Next, you find the camera hotspot on your phone. Then switch over to the cam app and select your camera. It will display a live view of your camera. Viewing videos are very easy. Just select video or images and it will take you to that directory. Each video will show a thumbnail of the beginning of the video. If you want to watch the video from the phone, it will need to buffer to your phone first. If you have the setting on 5 minutes, it can take that long before you can watch the video on your phone. It’s best to download first and make sure your settings are either 1 min or 3 min. Because my truck has a built in hotspot, when connecting to the wifi of the camera, make sure your hotspot is turned off in your vehicle. My hotspot caused interference with the camera. It would connect and then disconnect after 10 seconds. I don’t think this is a problem with the camera. My truck has a lot of electronics going all the time. Once my harness came in, I was able to install the dash cam. There is a rear camera that comes with the dash cam. The rear camera is better designed for a vehicle with a sloped rear glass. My truck rear glass is vertical. There is no place to install the camera in my truck. I found a groove in the Head Liner that allowed me to slide the mini camera in. The bracket on the camera only allows it to stick at an angle. Reading the instructions, the camera is designed to be installed outside the vehicle and can be used as a backup camera. It’s very versatile and can be used in many ways. I have a backup camera already but wanted to be able to record video of the rear. I never had this before and I really love it! The video isn’t as good of resolution as the front, but the video is good enough to see if someone rear ends you. The rear camera comes with MORE than enough cable to reach the back of the vehicle. I had a lot of excess that I had to tuck in the headliner. It’s better to have more than enough than not enough. The cable has a red power cable that is attached. This is so that you can install it to your rear light so that you can use it has a backup camera. I just taped mine off since I was using it just to record the back of my vehicle. I love the peace of mind of having front and back video now. I spent the weekend doing my normal activities. Once the weekend was over, I pulled the memory card and plugged it into my computer. I reviewed all the videos from the weekend. I was very impressed with the quality. I had videos of me driving at night, as well. The rear camera can be a bit fuzzy because all the headlights from the cars behind you are shining right into the camera. This is a problem with all cameras. You shine a bright light into the camera and it won’t be a great video. You can still see all the cars just fine and can see if someone hits you. The front camera was crystal clear! It was so clear that it even showed my dirty windshield that I can’t notice at night! I have my camera set on 4k so that I can get the best quality. Even at 4k at night, you may not be able to get license plate numbers due to headlights reflecting into the license plate. Makes it hard to see. During the day though, you can definitely make out license plate numbers. The camera has a very nice wide angle so you can see from 1 end of the windshield to the other. Another great feature is this camera will record audio inside the cabin. This is easily turned off with the hit of a button. So, if you are having a private conversation with someone, you may want to turn that off before you start. There is another feature that I am not able to test. There is a setting that will allow the camera to turn on while parked if there is a sudden impact. I wired my camera to turn off when the vehicle turns off. I do not want anything draining my battery when I am away. So, if you want recording when you turn off your vehicle, you will need to wire to a fuse that stays hot while the vehicle is off. The impact setting will automatically turn on the camera if there is a sudden hit to your vehicle and start recording. For obvious reasons, I have not been able to experiment with this feature. It does give me a warm fuzzy to know that it will start recording if I am hit in a parking lot. This has been a great insurance investment. With all the crazies out there and lack of integrity, having this dash cam installed in my vehicle gives me peace of mind. Highly recommend for the price point and value.

A Good Dash Cam System
This review is for the Kingslim D2 Pro (Upgrade Version) Dual Dash Cam. I have had it for almost two weeks now and I am happy with it.What's In the Box: The package contains the front and rear cameras as well as the cables, mounting hardware and instructions. It does not come with a micro SD card which needs to be purchased separately. I am using a PNY 256 GB card in my unit and it has been working well.Setup And Operation: I would suggest checking out the online version of the user manual and also watching the YouTube video first. The link to the video is in both the printed and online manuals. Although the video is for an earlier version of the dash cam, the installation and operation are very similar. The camera is controlled by using the four buttons on the bottom of the camera. Using the control buttons is relatively simple as most of the functions are automatic. The buttons are used for changing settings, capturing still photos and for playback. The Cameras: As for the cameras, both work very well. The videos are bright and clear and look very sharp. The camera screen can be set up to show just the front or rear camera view or a picture in a picture view. When recording, it does a separate video for each of the cameras. I tested it out in low light conditions and the screen image and videos were still very good for both of the cameras. The camera has an internal battery which allows it to work when the vehicle is parked and the power is off. The camera can be set up to be sensitive to vibrations and will take a 20 second video if it detects an impact or vibration. If the red wire on the rear camera is connected to the backup light circuit it can also act as a backup camera and will display a grid similar to the ones that appear on cars equipped with a backup camera. The App: Although you can connect the camera directly to a computer or remove the micro SD card, there is an app that can be used with this. The app is for remotely viewing the videos and stills and for downloading the files from the camera. The app connects via WiFi and only uses the connection when you are using the app which means that you have to connect to the camera's WiFi each time. It only takes a minute to connect which is not a problem. Once connected, the app shows all of the files that are on the camera and it allows you to view or download them to your phone. Viewing and downloading files was quick and easy.Value: I think that this Dash Cam kit is a good value for what it costs. The cameras appear to be on the solid side and look like they will perform for a long time.

Audio and IOS app needs work
I got this camera to replace my 5 year old dashcam. While the old cam works, the video is limited to 720 and the video card was limited to 32k. This camera has great quality video, supports 4K video and takes a 256K mini SD card. My issues are 1) the audio quality in playback on the dashcam is very poor and on the computer you have to raise the volume (almost to maximum) hear what is being said. 2) The Kingslim app doesn't work in IOS. I can connect the phone to the camera, but once you go back from pairing, the camera (or the app) loses the connection. I do need to compliment Kingslim support. I have been working with them on a few startup issues and my 2 main complaints. They have been supportive and responsive to my needs. The issues haven't been resolved yet, but they are looking into it for me. They are trying to determine if it's my dashcam or a generic issue.

Working well
The camera is working well. The video is clear and it was relatively easy to install. I had to hold the rear camera with the screws after drilling small holes in the back. I did not want to install the camera outside the car. Video to install was helpful and technical support responded if I had questions. It gives me piece of mind

Works as advertised initially, but now about 6 months later battery is going dead
The product seemed to be nice when I received and it installed rather easily do to my experience in putting these in. Unfortunately here we are after 6 months and the battery system built in is now gone bad. It keeps beeping and taking pictures each time car is started up.
