Melissa & Doug Sweet Keepsakes Craft Kit: 2 Decorate-Your-Own Treasure Boxes and a Cake Bank

I'm a little bit of a fan of Melissa & Doug products and especially their wooden toys and craft kits which I have bought a lot of over the last few years since discovering them. They are always great quality and I don't think that I have ever been let down by them.This Sweet Set would be great to give as a gift for a creatively minded child or even to purchase for rainy day craft entertainment as it has 3 items inside to be decorated. There is another very similar  Favourite Things set  which I bought a little while ago and this also has 3 items to decorate but with a flower, butterfly and heart theme and so there are a couple of options worth considering.The box the set arrives in is quite large at approx 30cm by 8cm by 26cm and so this isn't a small boxed set.The Ice Cream Cone Treasure Box measures approx 10cm high by 6cm wideThe Cupcake Treasure Box measures approx 8cm high by 6cm wideThe Cake Slice Money Box measures approx 9cm long by 7cm wide by 6.5cm tallThe set comes with:-1 x Cake Slice Money Bank1 x Cupcake Treasure Box1 x Ice Cream Cone Treasure Box3 x Glitter Glue (Pink, Silver and Purple)3 x Paintbrushes6 x Pots of Paint (Pink, Blue, Purple, Yellow, White and Brown)2 x Sticker Sheets (Ice Cream Swirls, Cone Shapes, Circles, Stars and Hearts)The money bank and treasure boxes are made from a sort of resin type material and both of the treasure box lids are removable. The Cake Slice Bank has a money slot at the top and opening at the bottom to access the money inside (when saved) which has a little removable seal. The paints are bright and colourful and the stickers and glitter glues are extra nice touches. The set is aimed at children 8years old and over but with help this set can be used by younger children and I bought mine for a younger aged child than this. A really lovely set and perfect for creative children.Edit 21/06/17 - I have added a photo of the front and back of the set when it was new in order to show what it looks like when it arrives. I haven't and probably won't add any further photos of the items etc as the product photos perfectly represent how they look anyway.

Fantastic, my soon to be 8 year old enjoyed every minute of decorating these. The quality is just what you expect from Melissa & doug.

Bought as a gift for nine year old niece who loved them and couldn't wait to get her craft on. I'll admit I haven't seen the result in person but I got sent a great pic just a couple of days after my niece opened her parcel which I've included in this review. Quality seems good, price reasonable and a happy niece is a happy aunt.
