Started off well then became a killjoy but still...
Six people gathered in a luxury cabin in the middle of nowhere in Georgia to spend some time but then a strom came and they became disconnected from the outside world. Thrir place has a history of murder and ghosts and someone is watching them and someone wants to kill someone.Ok, I admit this is an interesting story but I became disappointed because of these reasons :-1 Too many POV's to be accounted for. If you're writing multiple POV's story then make sure each character has a depth in them. Here everyone was dull and boring like they're coming straight out from a funeral. She wanted to make The Hunting Party type of story but her characters had no depth except the POV of Henry.2 Started off well and I wanted to know more. The suspense builds up but then she deflated the balloon herself by telling that each character in this book is crazy and is after only one thing. And this really killed it for me. Read Lucy Foley and you'll know what I'm saying here.I loved the character of Henry only and I was interested only in his story and nothing else. Narration of the story is good. I'm giving four stars because to write this much needs talent and Unger has talent but this time it didn't work that way. The balance of Henry's POV is an example of this.Overall, it's a good read if you don't expect much from it. Go for it.

Loose ends left me puzzled and unsatisfied
Diving into my first Lisa Unger book was a thrilling ride through secrets and storms. Set in a luxurious cottage in Georgia woods, the story follows three couples whose lives are entangled in a web of hidden affairs and dark mysteries.🌟 Unger masterfully weaves alternating timelines between past and present, creating an intriguing narrative that keeps you guessing. The stormy backdrop mirrors the tempestuous relationships and the secrets that unfold.👥 While the numerous characters offer a diverse range of perspectives, some might feel more like props than fully fleshed-out personas. A couple of unresolved storylines left me wanting more closure.🕰️ The fast-paced shifts between timelines added complexity to the plot, but at times, they didn't seamlessly align. The multiple POVs, usually a favorite of mine, didn't quite click this time.❓ The anticipation for all puzzle pieces to fit together builds, but some loose ends left me puzzled and unsatisfied. A few unresolved threads could leave you pondering long after the final page.

An Honest Review!
When it comes to crafting gloomy psychological thrillers, Lisa Unger is superb. This book’s suspenseful plot expertly connects the dots between all the important players. Since I rarely get to read for extended periods, I discovered that I always looked forward to returning to the novel. It’s also a challenging, fragmented read because of how the characters interact with one another and how their histories are portrayed. There were more than two storylines, with twists and linkages that weren’t immediately obvious. I’m pleased I persisted in reading, and I hope you will too. In the end, everything fits together. It’s about family, both the ones we select and the ones we are born into. There were many characters, and occasionally I had to go back to make sure I remembered who they were all. Interesting plot using the very popular DNA testing kits and how persons might be found utilizing them. I liked this book a lot. There were several points of view, family drama, and I just kind of guessed who did it properly. It was fascinating from beginning to end. I disliked one of the characters because of how well the author developed them. I think authors that are capable of doing that are amazing. The reader will need to fasten their seatbelt as they read every chapter with an unquenchable thirst to understand more about the macabre drama that is still playing out. With each page, they want to watch more of this horrifying event play outgrows.
