Why more than double the cost of the base game?

Supply and demand. The base game has been available longer, and more of them are in circulation. This expansion is the latest one, and currently only available in limited quantities.

Do you need the original version of Runebound 3 or can the full game be played just with this? I only plan on solo play. Thanks.

Hi, you will need the original runebound 3 edition to use unbreakable bonds. Unbreakable bonds adds to the core game it doesn’t replace it.

How is the replay-ability of the co-op scenarios?

This game uses randomized (but scenario specific) event cards to craft its adventure on each playthrough, and heroes also have to pick from a large assortment of gear and skills as opportunity permits. So yes, very high replayability. In video game terms, each adventure is procedurally generated. The more expansions you have, the more variability you can put into it.
