I'll think of something. So it's gonna be okay ! アイツのことはオレが何とかするんで大丈夫っす！ 出ました、「大丈夫」！これもスゴイ並みに多義的で指し示す内容の特定は難しい。 ①Don't worry about him. ②I'll think of something. ③So it's gonna be okay ! 大丈夫は③だけでも十分だが、それでは読者には伝わらない。①⇒②ときて③にステップアップしてようやく状況が飲み込めるのだ。音読でも①と②を噛みしめて③の決め台詞になだれ込もう。ここもこなれた表現の典型だが、うまく英訳されている。暗殺教室では後半だれてきたきらいがあるが本書はむしろ後半の方が冴えている。 第二の例 It's been a short three days since school mystery No.3 forcibly threw me out of the world through the looking glass, the hell of the mirrors. 鏡の向こうの別世界、七不思議が三番、鏡地獄から強制送還されて早三日。 ちょうどいい長さの説明文、これくらいは会話で使いたいところだ。音読のときも考えながら説明しているニュアンスが伝わるように息を切るところを工夫したい。 （１）It's been a short three days （２）since school mystery No.3 （３）forcibly threw me out of ①the world （②through the looking glass）, ③the hell of the mirrors. とりわけ③の音読は工夫が必要だ。②をカッコにして①と③をつなげる必要がある。そのニュアンスを音読で伝えるべく工夫をしてみよう。ルッキンググラスとミラーズは言い換えであることも押さえている音読も工夫しよう。これはやりがいがある音読になる。
