Well, I bought this to fix the brakes on my step son’s bike. The kit had everything I needed, I am very pleased. I was able to run new cables, cut, and cap them with ease. As I was doing this little project, I take appreciation of the tool, and they are heavier and more solid than I was expecting, and operated easily, cut the brake lines easily. Over all, I’m pleased.Well, fast forward a few days, and my 18 year old daughter, forced a ring onto her finger, and now it’s stuck. Her finger was turning colors, her mom was trying the thread trick, but we were not making ground. I remembered this tool, and thought it was a chance…and it snipped that small ring easily and didn’t harm my daughters finger, it’s a handy tool to have around, apparently, and the only thing that got hurt that day, was my daughter’s feelings.

Good product, price and delivery. The cutters work perfectly and having 10 cables is a great deal.

My Tallboy was having shifting issues and after visiting several LBS and get a different opinion from each of them, ranging from chain to cassette to total drive train replacement to nothing is wrong…I decided to try to do a few things myself and it turns out it was just the cable. It’s an easy job because you don’t replace the old cable housing (assuming that’s in good condition) you just run the new cable right through, then clip the length and cap it. I think I’ll get better at capping, I kinda marred the paint but my bikes for riding, not displaying so it’s fine for me. All and all this cable set is one of the best values of anything I’ve purchased recently. It has everything you need for the job and saves a lot of money over LBS. I’ll add this, adjust the derailleur after putting on the new cable, took several videos to learn but once it clicked, even that’s pretty easy and my bike is butter now! If you have any shifting issue on a bike over 3 years old, first and foremost, replace the cables before spending big money on anything else!

Works fine

First set of cable cutters I've ever purchased since I have been long overdue ordering a set considering I tinker with some BMX and muscle bikes for fun. They do a nice job leaving a clean cut on cables, but when cutting cable housings I needed to insert a nail or screw to open up the centers to be able to slide cable thru. This came with a number of cables and attachments for the ends of both cable and housings. I feel this was a pretty good deal for what amount of work I do. I know Park Tools are the best ones, but it was double the price just for that tool alone whereas you get some added bonuses along with this tool.

I was expecting the tool to have a crimper, but it does not. You can use it to do so but make sure you're only pressing down on what you're crimping and not cutting it. I would expect a tool be this heavy and this bulky would have a bit more going for it than just being wire cutters. Which is a basic tool most common households have already. With that being said, I like the variety of cables and the fact that they come with replacement casings.

The cable was easier to install than I expected and the cable snips did a great job of cutting the extra cable. I am now able to change gears easily again!
