This is one of the most talked about and raved about papers in the fountain pen and art communities. And with good reason. Stands up to watercolors and very wet nibs with very little ghosting. This is very thin paper. If you are looking for Bible thin- you have found it. You can use a lot of paper and it doesn’t get overly thick. I got the dotted line paper and my only disappointment is it isn’t dotted on both sides. It is excellent paper. Great for making your own art notebooks or travelers notebook insert.

Just got my first delivery of Tomoe River paper! I love the quality, and it works beautifully with my fountain pens. I understand what everyone is talking about now! Unfortunately, it was delivered bent and every page had the upper corner wrinkled up. That’s a bummer, but the paper itself is wonderful! I can’t wait to send letters using it.

Overall, the product came in good shape and was delivered as described. I do have a couple of critiques though. The pages are VERY thin, which means that if they aren't handled with extra care, they can easily crinkle and rip. Best to keep them in a padfolio to preserve their integrity and not in a loose binder where the movement in transport can ruin them. Second, they are single sided, probably because they are so thin and pens would bleed through easily. I was hoping to be able to write on 100 page sides, as it's more economical and eco friendly. On the positive side, these pages are almost silky, and enable beautiful pen/marker/pencil work.

Excellent quality - I will buy this again. I use it for letter writing and because tomoe river paper is so thin, it is great for long letters.

I'm a lover of writing implements and art supplies. My favorite implements are wet fountain pens and wooden pencils. Along with my love for things that leave marks comes an interest in finding great papers to use them on. This paper is great -- but to be honest I don't know what I'm going to do with it. The 52gsm weight makes this paper so thin as to be pretty much useless for my purposes. It's so thin that weights like this don't even appear on most paper weight lists. I don't believe it's technically onionskin due to its composition, but it is of the same weight as many onionskin papers. No bleedthrough, no feathering, wonderful texture. But so thin that even regular pencils have significant ghosting. That means this paper is basically useless in a front and back format. Also worth noting that the dot grid is only on one side of the paper, which surprised me, but makes sense. They knew there was no reason to spend the ink on ruling both sides since only one side can be used.
