Nice barrel
It leaks. But, if water is hot and you don't disturb it. It's ok. I'm going to try another. They may just be to small. The wood has to be cut to precise size and barrel rings done just right. Knock on wood. I've not had any problems with the 2 liter size. You just have to be careful with the 1 liter. Bought a second 1liter barrel. It doesn't leak. I used a dead blow hammer and hammered down on rings. One was loose. It's working great.

Poor quality
I just received my 2L Oak BarrelAnd I’m not happy. Three rings were loose in the box. And the rings on the barrel were also loose, along with ill fitting staves. I know that all barrels leak but this one is leaking from everywhere. I’m going to cure the barrel and hope the barrel seals up as it should but I’m skeptical as this is not my first rodeo.I give this product 1 star for the time being

Great barrel
Great barrel. Unvarnished so it can breathe. Condition as directed and it works great!

Very nice barrel arrived wrapped in thick plastic. Highly recommend.
Excellent product so far. No LEAKS! Beyond that, the juice inside will need 4-8 months to reveal the flavors from the medium char. The fact that it holds water makes it worth the cost of admission. Very satisfied so far with this barrel.

Quality product!!
Excellent product with excellent information. Sealed up perfectly overnight but I still kept it full for recommended 5 days before using.

You lose a lot
When I got the cask, I filled it with water and waited 5 days, as directed. Then I put about 3.5 liters/120 ounces of bourbon in it. Over the next couple months, I occasionally tested it to see how it was progressing, probably totaling 10-12 ounces removed. After 3 months, I emptied the cask, and I found I had 21 ounces left! So the very most I could have possibly taken out was less than a liter. That means I lost about 70% of it through slow leakage and evaporation. I am afraid to out anything of value in it with that kind of a loss rate. The above was my original review. After I wrote that, I coated the whole thing in wax and returned that less than a liter of bourbon to the cask and added enough vermouth and Averna to make a nice cask-aged black Manhattan. I then left for three weeks and came back to find only about a cup remained--about 3/4 of it was gone.I don't know if this is the worst product of any kind I have ever bought, but it is darned close. It will not only rob you of the cost of the item itself, it will rob you of the cost of whatever you put in it.
