If you are looking at this scale to purchase, then I don't have to convince you. Withings is a British health appliance manufacturer. This scale is well-built. Multifunction. Bluetooth and Wifi. Highly stable on a flat surface. Supremely easy to use, just step on and stand there. The color black fits in with just about any decor. Full value comes from using the Withings app as well. Extra charges may apply. 😂😂

So I must say I'm quite happy with the WITHINGS Body Comp. I think the most important thing folks are going to care about is how accurate the scale is. I do not have a benchmark scale to compare it with…but I find that the WITHINGS scale gives consistent numbers on a day-to-day basis…the numbers "make sense" to me. The instructions recommend that you weigh yourself at the same time daily to get consistent results…I went with the suggested "half hour after wakeup"…and that's been working for me. I was somewhat dubious about how the scale determines things like BMI and the like…but I did some homework and find that the methods make sense. Again, I do not have benchmarks to know exactly how accurate the scale is…but the health data numbers are consistent and I am happy to have a "general" sense of how I'm doing beyond how much I weigh…even if the numbers are off by a couple of percentage points. I think the thing that is actually most important for me is having the app and integration with Apple's HealthKit. I find I'm quite motivated…much more than I thought I would be…to work on my overall health in a consistent, steady way. Presenting health data to me in a way that keeps me on track is great. As an app developer myself, I can see the little ways in which the WITHINGS app is a bit wonky…but, overall, the app is works great and is solid. One thing I especially appreciate is how customizable the scale is and that it works with WiFi (which makes it super easy to use…no worries about synching data). If I had anything negative to say, it'd be that WITHINGS does really push its premium service at you during the first couple of weeks after you activate the scale. And if the service were a little cheaper per month (say $5), I might actually try it…but it doesn't seem like it's adding much more value to the scale (perhaps I am wrong…in fairness, I didn't try the service). But that's minor…honestly I think this scale hits the sweet spot…it's an investment, but it seems to be very accurate, gives a great picture of your health and helps you set sustainable goals, and it looks good too!

I've been a Withing customer for as long as long as they've been around and owned multiple of their products. I purchased the in Oct 2023 and for about three months it worked really well. However, after some time it started regularly failing to read my heart rate, which also disables other features like vascular age. I first contacted Withing support in May 2024 and provided them with all of the information they asked for in the support request, along with everything else I could think of that was relevant. The support response was very disappointing. They walked me through a multi-step, multi-week process where they asked me repeatedly to do the trouble shooting steps documented on their web site that I told them up front I had already done. In June I was traveling for about two weeks, and they automatically closed the issue without telling me. After returning from vacation, I was really frustrated to see the issue closed when I tried to reply to their latest pointless request, so I let things go for a few weeks, hoping things would get better, but they didn't. I tried to reopen the request, but there was no way to do that, but instead you have to open a new request with a link to the old support request. Weird, but that's fine. However, once I did that, the issue was automatically closed in minutes. I thought I must have done something wrong and tried twice more with the same result. I looked for a way to open an entirely new support request and the only options it showed on the page was to do live chat or visit the support forums. I decided against the support forums since there are very few posts there and almost no actual support from Withings. I ended up opening up a chat request. I provided them with the previous support request and gave them a short summary of my problem. The support person completely ignored my previous support request and wanted to start all over on the process. I insisted they read the support request, and they then skipped a few steps through their script. Talking to them about this dragged on for almost 40 minutes, with the person insisting I redo steps I've already done and refusing to help me unless I did. Ultimately, I gave up and told them I was not interested in proceeding since I had wasted so much of my time with them. This entire process was unpleasant and felt as if Withings was actively trying to make it difficult in order to avoid providing warranty support. I told them as much, and they offered to refer my request to a senior support person. I told them that sounded great, and then they insisted I had to redo steps over again in order to proceed with that. Other scales on the market have 80% of the features of the Body Comp for 1/3 of the price. I ended up with a Eufy scale which seems great. The entire time I had the Withings scale I regularly had problems with the scale regularly not updating my weight etc in the app for days at a time. The Eufy scale reads my heart rate every time and syncs the health data to my phone instantly. At this point I'm done doing business with Withings. I expected a premium product when buying this scale and with that premium support. Instead, I got something that didn't deliver on the features that were promised and a company that appears to be intentionally hard to work with. I rarely write Amazon reviews, but I hope this can help someone else avoid the problems I had with this one.

I bought this to replace an older Body+ scale. The old scale still works, but I wanted the new features. It was very easy to set up and link to my Withings account. Based on the quality and performance of the Body+, I expect that it will probably outlast me. The Wi-Fi & Bluetooth combination means that you don't have to have your smartphone open to do a quick weight check. It may not sound like a big deal, but after using other health tools that require it, it's much quicker and easier. I also have the Withings BPM Vision, and the Withings app provides great feedback for both products. I wish the Body Scan scale was more affordable!

The app is very user friendly and it is not difficult at all for my wife and I to have separate profiles. The scale somehow recognizes who is standing on it and attributes those stats to the correct profile. The information it tracks is very useful and not gimmicky like a lot of the smart scales out there that inundate you with pretty useless data. The body fat and lean mass percentages, cardiovascular age, and metabolic age and are really interesting to track. The quality of the scale is very high. It feels solid and durable. It looks very clean and hasn’t gotten dirty even after about a month of use. If you’re looking for a smart scale, this is the one. It’s more accurate than virtually all other feet-only scales. For twice the money you can get the hand held electrode reader to increase accuracy by about .5% but for us it was not worth the extra money. The body comp was the way to go for us.

If you are technical, and enjoy doing tech support for yourself for very little return on the time, definitely buy this scale. It will take up large amounts of your time and occasionally barely work. It'll fail to connect to your network frequently, lose it's network settings, the blue tooth connection will drop in and out randomly, the interface will fail you, and should someone besides you get on the scale to use it, it'll reset your settings and lock in the information for a very long time, maybe even forever as some of the functions will randomly quit working, such as the body fat measurement. If you're not into that, don't buy this scale or any of the ones related to it. It's a huge waste of time.

Great scale, provides lots of information, syncs well with apps like Apple Health and Oura. If health and wellness are important to you then this scale is for you.
