I got these Lycopene capsules because Lycopene is a good anti-inflammatory which is supposed to be especially good for the prostate.The capsules arrived in a handy flat letterbox friendly container.I always appreciate when a supplement’s dosage is *per* capsule/tablet etc. This is the case with this lycopene supplement. The 15mg dosage in each capsule is quite good when you consider that tomatoes have up to ~7.5mg per 100g, at best. This depends on ripeness, variety etc. So, 15mg equates to ~200g high lycopene yielding fresh tomatoes or more, which is about 2 medium or 1 large. That’s a pretty good amount.This supplement should appeal to people who are tomato intolerant or simply don’t like fresh tomatoes.The capsules are about 20mm/0.8” and easy to swallow. They are relatively tasteless. I’ve been taking them for a couple of weeks and had no ill effects. Otherwise I would seek the benefits of lycopene by eating plenty of them. The benefit I most cherish is to my eyes. I am surprised that Hellenia do not give this fact more prominence in their ad. Many supplement sellers seek to hide the fact that to get their recommended dose / serving (weasel words) you must swallow two, three or even four of their pills. Hellenia is a happy exception.I like that this supplement is made in the UK. It is unfortunate that the small print both on the ad. and the bottle is so very small as to be unreadable when it comes to the details of the contents.The flat white plastic bottle is surprisingly small and definitely letter-box friendly, but I would have preferred either glass with a metal lid or a re-sealable pouch, to protect both myself and our whole world from plastic pollution. Boosting my health with these capsules and at the same time perhaps poisoning myself with micro particles of plastic is not the best idea. And what will become of this plastic bottle in two months' time when the bottle is empty?
