Laces cut inot my foot, hurt

The laces cut painfully into the top of my foot through the thin, unpadded cloth of the tongue, and that was with fairly thick socks on pacing in the living room. Walking down hill would have been hell. Poor functional design, all style, no brains. Returned them.
