The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 [DVD] [2017]

I'll be the first one to say i have a love/hate relationship with the Twilight films & books. I definitely lean more towards love though ha! Don't get me wrong, i don't force this love for Twilight on anyone but i know its not for everyone! I just feel like it really pulls me in to their world, its a good way to escape. Ive said this before; I'm a romantic & i adore a good love story... Sometimes i don't even care about the cheese! :-) Anyway, on to the film! So i went to see it today with a friend- we picked today to avoid the hordes of teenage girls with Team Edward/Jacob jumpers on! I cant handle screaming teenagers! I wanted to take the film seriously! I mean its the last one ever... *sigh* I was really pleased with the film, i thought it was an excellent adaption of the book. Im glad Stephanie Meyer produced it because it kept the story true & didn't get sucked into the drama only. Don't get me wrong though there was plenty of drama! I felt Kristen Stewart played a newborn Vampire well. ( maybe being a vampire just suited her- with all the extreme emotions & such). Either way the film had a good level of action & purpose. I do also think it had a lovely feminine touch to it with some of the small details, like the credits at the end. Im trying really hard not to give any spoilers away & don't you worry, i wont. I feel very emotionally tied to the Cullen's & i think this film played on its loyal fans. There were definitely some shocking twists in the film but somehow it still stayed true to the books. I loved the ending & it just felt extremely satisfying and as soon as it finished i felt like i needed to watch it again & just thinking about it makes me want to relive it all over again! I know that these films & books aren't for everyone but for me, it was just awesome! It should also be mentioned that the soundtrack was also very good. Im definitely giving this 10 stars. Films like this truly rely on its fans becoming emotionally involved because yes its full of vampires & werewolves but more than that, its about fighting for love & the happy ending you deserve. ( I'm pretty certain most of us wish we were Bella by the end of it all!) Fave song: A thousand years- Christina Perri. Fave quote: 'now you know. No ones ever loved anyone as much as i love you.' Bella.

Fantastic film, could watch it every single day!

Product: arrived safely and in good time. Having read the books, I was very interested to see what would be cut from the film as there is no way that everything could be included. Quite a bit of Bella's intial reactions to the transformation were lost and this was a wrench for me. However it was obvious this would have to be sacrificed to the running storyline. It was no surprise to see that most of the interaction with J Jenks was cut. I knew that the anti-climax ending of the book would not translate well in film-makers terms so was expecting something different... I will not spoil things but they did it brilliantly. I know that when I watched this in the cinema, the second time, I was thrilled by the reactions of the audience... the shock elements were so fantastic, characters' fates and the action sequences elicited actual physical reactions from the viewers! And it still does when watching on a smaller screen... although the bigger the better with this part of the film. My only negative... but to me quite a huge negative... was the music. Although the movie score itself was as high quality as previous films, the choice of accompanying tracks was extremely disappointing and seriously hampered the film's ability to capture every nuance. It was probably a disappointment made worse by the fact that the music choices in the previous films were so brilliant... different flavours but each film retaining a musical sense of self. This one doesn't and it really grates on me every time I watch. If I could turn off those songs, I could enjoy this much more, although the story doesn't disappoint at all.

I love the whole set of these films, such a great storyline bought to life by a wonderful set of actors. If you want to get sucked into another world, full of love, enchantment and family closeness then this is the movie for you

Excellent finale to the Twilight Saga, have seen this in the cinema, and am counting the days until delivery, so I can have the complete set. The love story of a human and a vampire tugs at the heart strings of a wide range of followers, I know girls of 14 who love it, and many like me at 61 also love it. This is the ultimate fantasy, good vampires who don't drink human blood, young impressionable girl who falls in love with the hero of the film, a second admirer, who just turns out to be a werewolf, and a small town where the chief of police is totally unaware of the goings on in the woods and local areas. When Bella gives birth to Edwards child and has to be turned to safe her 'life' the story continues with dramatic scenes where the whole vampire family, friends and befriended werewolves (an unlikely alliance in any other story) making this one of the best films I have seen in a long time. If you have read Part II of Breaking Dawn, the film does deviate towards the end, but although I always think the best thing to do is watch the film first then read the book, in this instance I do believe the film has a much better ending than that of the book. Cant wait to have my copy delivered on March 11th, then I can have a complete Twilight day, and am so looking forward to it. This is a MUST buy, especially if, like me, you already have the first 4 DVDs

Zur Handlung von Breaking Dawn - Teil 2: Die Handlung von „Breaking Dawn - Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht - Teil 2“ setzt da ein, wo der erste Teil des großen Finales aufhörte. Edward Cullens (Robert Pattinson) und Bella Cullens (Kristen Stewart) Baby Renesmée ist nach der dramatischen Geburt im letzten Film wohlauf. Bella ist jetzt eine Vampirin und muss sich an ihr neues „Leben“ gewöhnen. Sie besitzt nach ihrer Verwandlung eine Reihe neuer Fähigkeiten. Nicht nur sind Bellas Sinne viel ausgeprägter, auch ihre körperliche Stärke hat sich vervielfacht. Daneben besitzt sie nun aber auch noch die Gabe ihre Lieben mit einer Art Schild vor Angriffen zu schützen. Und das ist auch dringend notwendig. Denn die Volturi haben von Bellas und Edwards Nachwuchs erfahren und glauben fälschlicherweise, es würde sich bei Renesmée um ein sogenanntes unsterbliches Kind handeln. Unsterbliche Kinder stellen ob ihrer Macht und Unberechenbarkeit eine große Gefahr für die Vampirrasse dar. Deswegen und aus profaner Machtgier setzen von nun an die Volturi alles daran, den Cullens und ihrem Nachwuchs den Garaus zu machen. Schließlich kulminiert der Konflikt in einer großen Konfrontation zwischen den Cullens, anderen Vampir-Clans, die sich auf ihre Seite geschlagen haben und den Volturi. Die Cullens besitzen zudem den Beistand, der Wolfsrudel rund um den auf Renesmée „geprägten“ Jacob (Taylor Lautner). Die große Frage ist, ob sich die Vampir-Clans einigen können oder ob ein Kampf unausweichlich ist. Und Fans der Saga sei schon einmal im Vorfeld gesagt, dass sie sich auf einige Überraschungen am Ende gefasst machen sollten. Nichts für Kinder ! Einigermaßen erstaunlich ist die Brutalität dieses letzten Teils der Reihe. „Breaking Dawn - Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht - Teil 2“ ist ganz bestimmt nichts für Zartbesaitete. Und so hart sich das in den Ohren besonders junger Twi-Hards auch anhören mag; aber der Film ist nichts für Kinder. Hier rollen Köpfe (buchstäblich) und hier brennen Menschen. Schon der letzte Teil war ja nicht eben zimperlich - vor allem die Kaiserschnitt-Sequenz kommt einen sofort wieder in Erinnerung. Aber das Finale des zweiten Teils toppt das im ersten Teil gezeigte Maß an Brutalität noch einmal deutlich. Diese Art der expliziten Gewaltdarstellung scheint allerdings auch dem Umstand Tribut zu zollen, dass viele Twilight-Fans der ersten Stunde mittlerweile selber erwachsen geworden sind. Und der Film tut gut daran, seine Fans auch dementsprechend zu behandeln. Insgesamt wirkt „Breaking Dawn - Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht - Teil 2“ ohnehin sehr viel reifer, als die Vorgänger. Selbstironische Reflexionen sind an einigen Stellen im Film auszumachen. Eine gesunde Distanz zum Stoff verhindert, dass alles im heiligen Ernst erstickt. Gerade das Ende des Filmes beweist auch, dass sich die Streifen letztlich vielleicht ein Stück weit von ihrer geistigen Schöpferin „Stehenie Meyer“ emanzipieren konnten. Fans werden daran ihre Freude haben, da bin ich mir sehr sicher. Genauso, wie es den meisten Anhängern der Saga gefallen dürfte, dass dieser Film viel mehr als nur die Beschreibung eines finalen Konfliktes ist. „Breaking Dawn - Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht - Teil 2“ ist in vielerlei Hinsicht eine verdiente Verneigung vor den Fans, die seit Jahren Bella und Co. treu geblieben sind, auch wenn sie sich dafür nicht selten der Häme und dem Spott ihrer Mitmenschen stellen mussten. So ist dann auch der letzte Akt so gestaltet, dass Hardcore-Anhänger ganz bestimmt zahlreiche Taschentücher mit Tränen der Rührung vollweinen werden. Auf der folgenden Seite findet Ihr unseren größten Kritikpunkt an „Breaking Dawn - Teil 2“ und das Fazit Gibt es also aus Perspektive der Fans nichts zu beanstanden an dem Film? Die eher emotionslosen darstellerischen Leistungen, die von Beginn an das Franchise begleiten, einmal außen vor gelassen (eine große Ausnahme ist hier der exzellente Michael Sheen), ist es vor allem immer noch die filmische Umsetzung des Stoffes, die um Länger besser geraten hätte können - hätte müssen, bei einem Budget von mehr als 120 Millionen US-Dollar. Wie kann es sein, dass es immer noch unendlich albern aussieht, wenn die Protagonisten pfeilschnell durch den Wald eilen? Wieso sind die Werwölfe noch immer völlig lieblos animiert? Und was für ein Computertrick wurde um Himmelswillen beim Gesicht von Renesmée versucht? Was auch immer die Antwort auf diese Frage sein mag - der Film sieht an vielen Stellen einfach schlecht aus. Die Fans hätten für ihr Eintrittsgeld und für ihre Hingabe mehr verdient als diesen unterdurchschnittlichen, lieblosen Käse. Die Effekte sind zeitweise so übel, dass sie einen völlig aus der Geschichte reißen. Eine Schande für das viele Geld. An anderer Stelle mangelt es allerdings nicht am entsprechenden Fan-Service. Wie weiter oben schon angedeutet, entfaltet sich „Breaking Dawn - Bis(s) zum Ende der Nacht - Teil 2“ eher wie eine nostalgische, zweistündige Abschiednahme vom Franchise. Was für Twilight-fremdes Publikum zwangsläufig, wie eine Inszenierung ohne wirkliche Spannungsbögen wirken muss, dürfte für die Anhänger der Saga in jedem Moment schlüssig sein.
