Scalextric C8146 Motor Pack (with 2 Pinions) 1:32 Scale Accessory

Used to fix a digital McLaren 12C. The C8146 seems to be an 18000rpm motor, the old motor was sparking internally (seen when testing with the cover off). The old motor also caused the car to fail after about 2 minutes use. No such problems with the replacement, although it did require the use of a soldering iron to install. It only came with one pinion though.

Needed this new motor as the old one was sparking a lot and giving off a distinctive smell. Only downfall was i had to ude my Dremel to cut a bit off the spindle as it was too long and was fouling the back wheel on the car. Apart from that, a great replacement.

Motor is not as pictured. It does not come with wires or suppressors. It is also not as described as it does not come with 2 pinions.

As discussed in previous postings, these do not come with the connecting wires and you need a soldering iron. After my son burnt out the motors on both his scalextric cars, I left the choice with him; new cars or repair the existing ones. I was willing to advance him his pocket money for the repair. Motors turned up promptly, then that weekend fitted them. He was interested in the soldering process, as had to remove a capacitor first before re-soldering the original scalextric car cabling, an extra glob of solder helps here. hopefully he now knows the next motor change will be down to him (obviously under my supervision).

Much cheaper on ebay. Look for Scalextric motors.

This is an exact replacement for the stock motor including the sidewinder pinion.
