Works great.
Exactly what I was looking for. The arm tucks nicely under my monitor, and I think Fifine chose a good length to make it. Any longer and it wouldn't fit in between my speakers, any shorter and it wouldn't reach me when leaning back in my chair. My desk is 3' deep and when fully extended the mic reaches a little past the end of my desk.

I waited a bit to rate this, and I'm glad I did
I purchase this somewhat unusual mic stand for use specifically as a secondary desk mounted stand, to hold a dynamic XLR mic (as I have one device that doesn't play well with condenser mics). I usually prefer the 3-joint tube-style that hold the mic overhead, but to maximize the space I'm working with (72 inch desk), I thought having a lower, off to the left mic would give me access as needed, but keep my 'airspace' clear. And it does this...brilliantly. I love it, and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for low to desk mounting option. I purchased this a few months ago, but held off on reviewing it. Here's why: It's weird. Really weird. It's not an issue with the setup, it's not the quality, or the function, or the semi-static adjustable joints (pro tip: keep the hex key handy). The weirdness is in using it. I have no issue with the location: while my voice prefers a higher, chin-up mic configuration, I have used all types in all possible scenarios, and I'm usually able to adapt pretty quickly. The issue is one of workflow: using a low boom like this takes a bit of practice. It's not like my high mount, where I can just push whichever way to get it out of my line of sight. This takes a bit of practice, and it's time well spent. My initial experiences relocating the auxiliary mic on the fly resulted either swiping all desktop contents to the floor, or jabbing monitors in the soft and shiny parts. Now that I've had it on my desk for a while, dialed in the friction joints just how I like the, and learned to live with it: I love it. I can't think of a better way to mount an additional mic to any workstation. But if you're considering adding one to your setup, be aware of the limitations (READ: only one vertical axis) and the mind learning curve: while simple to set up, it is a bit clumsy to use.
