HELLA HLA-H83135121: H3 12V 100W Yellow Star Off Road Use

I bought this light because it was half the price as the others. I wasn't expecting to much. But to my surprise this light is very nice. It isn't real yellow or blue it is somewhere in the middle, if that can happen. I have used them in rain and snow and this light worked very well in both.I drive alot on freeway and back roads, this bulb is my favorite I've used so far.Thanks Amazon and Hella

Failed almost immediately = garbage.Either Amazon's packaging or Hella's manufacturing produced a $10 bulb that failed after the first use.I've had great luck with Hella products before, but you couldn't sell me one of these for a dollar.Bulb did not appear to be damaged in transit, but it could have been cracked since the Hella box was thrashed due to insufficient packaging by Amazon (a bubble bag for a light bulb - really?).I installed the 100W H3 Hella YellowStar bulb after ensuring there were no contaminants or oil on the bulb surface.The light was a bit dimmer than the 100W KC halogen in my other offroad light, so I used an infrared thermometer to find that the YellowStar bulb was running much hotter. I figured it might have been normal for this kind of H3 bulb that I had not used before. Two days later, it was dead.I ordered a KC Hilites 100W H3 halogen bulb to replace this garbage, and expect a decent service life based on past experience. Fool me once, but only once . . .

the bulbs are 100watt not 110 watt. the purpose of purchasing these bulbs was to be able to see more at night. it does the job of lighting the way but i would have thought the bulbs would be little more yellow then it is. dont expect a HID yellow but more like a slight tint of yellow. but overall the bulb does a good job lighting the way.

This product does not warant a single star. I purchased 2 of these and they went out within 3 weeks of each other. I am not new to this, the bulbs were handled in the packages they came in- no finger prints. I have purchased Phillips but never Hellas. In my opinion, do not purchase this light

They burn out one day before I got this email to write a review. Overall they lasted 2 months of daily use. I replaced them with some cheap wallymart 55w GE bulbs. now I don't care if they last 2 months. The color was a nice yellow, but the 100w did not look any brighter than the 55w bulbs I just put in. They were mounted in a true fog light with a sharp cut off and dispersed pattern. Not going to buy them again.
