Excellent IPS display, the largest usable size for a flat monitor
This monitor is pretty excellent all around. In practice, it's like using a 34" 1440p ultrawide display but taller. Similar pixel density, similar width, and the same (RGB) subpixel layout so the text quality is excellent. Basically it's the limit for me from a field-of-view perspective. Any larger than this and it would have to be curved. My desk is 70 cm deep (27.5 in) and that is working well. I certainly wouldn't use this on a desk smaller than 24" deep unless you had clearance behind it to let a monitor arm protrude past the back edge. If you intend to use the included stand, you should have a 30" or greater desk depth. Good thought went into the design of the chassis (except the power plug, which is in a bit of an awkward spot) with upward and downward facing USB ports, and a 1/4" mount on top for a camera, microphone or shelf. I have the Vivo 16 inch shelf (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B7VT4167) secured only to the top (not using the VESA adapter) with a single 1/4" screw and a little VHB tape underneath to prevent rotation and that is working well. The included stand has no height adjustment and it's a little invasive on my desktop, so I mounted the monitor to the BenQ Ergo Arm (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DTC9KFKL), which supports the weight and size of this monitor very well. The BenQ VESA adapter plate natively accepts the M6 diameter screws needed to mount this monitor using the included standoffs. I chose M6 1.0 x 13mm (Grade 12.9 black oxide) screws from ACE Hardware (16mm was too long, possibly 14mm is the max. It's hard to tell because the internal thread length tolerance of Asus' standoffs varied by at least +/- 1.0 mm) and they are working well with the BenQ mounting plate. Image quality is typical IPS. Good color uniformity, good text quality, acceptable backlight bleed. No dead or stuck pixels. Running on Windows 11, I can't decide if 100% scaling is best or if 125% scaling is best. I will say that running it in 100% scaling is just slightly more dense (smaller text size) than a 27" 1440p monitor. For productivity, this geometry seems to favor either a 2-up (side-by-side) or 4-up (one in each quadrant) window arrangement. Fullscreen games and movies are phenomenal. I am running this at full resolution, 120 Hz on a DisplayPort cable with DSC on from an RTX 5000 series card and I'm not experiencing any of the blackouts or slow-to-wake conditions that others are reporting. Everything considered, I found this to be an easy adjustment from my 27" 1440p and 34" 1440p ultrawide monitors. It's similar to both, just more. As what will probably be my last LCD IPS monitor, I'm finding the advantages to be many and the disadvantages few.

Fantastic Size, Motion Clarity, Features, Etc.
This monitor is a slam dunk size. Perfect size for 100% scaling of 4k, almost exactly on par with a 27" 1440p or 21" 1080p. I had a XG349C 3440x1440 180Hz ultrawide before which I was a little worried to give up, but this 144Hz IPS is very fast. I'm not kidding that the motion clarity at 144Hz is notably clearer, and I had carefully tuned my 180Hz monitor before. I was a little worried if this would be RGB or BGR, given that larger displays for some reason tend to do BGR, but text clarity is fantastic, so it must be RGB. In fact I had no need to run the clear type utility. No red or green fringing. Now it takes a week or two to get used to the corners being far away on a large flat panel, especially coming from a curved monitor. Ideal a monitor this size should be slightly curved. But It's not to big of a deal. Having used this, I could probably get on board with a 42" 4K OLED TV if they ever make those 240Hz, since, they're probably never make another 38" again. No idea why companies don't try more things like this. I thought I was going to be annoyed with some of the port locations, but it ended up working out fine if not great. I have the power cable wrapped back towards the center and velcro strapped. I have a right angle adpater on the headphone jack, and the HDMI on the side wraps around fine enough. I was able to easily VESA mount it to my existing monitor arm. I was a little worried about the weight, but I cranked up the spring tension, and it's held fine for months now. Color is very good, again notably better than my previous ultrawide. It has ELMB SYNC, but honestly It's not very desirable, as much as I love backlight strobing. Way too much red fringing and image doubling. it's only good for about 1/3 of the display, whether you adjust to optimize top, middle, or bottom. All in all, I'm very happy I finally pulled the trigger on this, I was getting a little frustrated with always adjusting games and other things on my ultrawide after 10 years of ultrawides. I really liked the accessory pouch it came with as well.

Perfect size! Amazing picture quality and super smooth performance!
I’ve had this ASUS ROG Swift 38" monitor for a few weeks and I’m really impressed. The picture quality is outstanding everything looks sharp, bright, and colorful. I use it mostly for work, streaming, and some light gaming, and it handles everything perfectly. The motion is smooth, and the colors look very true to life. Setup was simple and the build quality feels solid. The speakers are better than I expected, and the size is perfect for having multiple windows open without feeling cramped. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but you can tell where the money went once you see it in action. I’m really happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who wants a high quality, all around great monitor. I have my 28" monitor off to the side as a second monitor now.

Great Monitor! DSC Issue Easily Fixed - Working Perfectly Now
UPDATE: I'm really happy with this monitor! Initially, I experienced intermittent black screens that lasted 2-3 seconds during normal use. After researching, I found this is a common issue with ASUS monitors and DSC (Display Stream Compression). The simple fix was to disable DSC in the monitor's settings menu - no need to drop the refresh rate to 60Hz as I initially thought. Since disabling DSC about an hour ago, I haven't experienced a single blackout. The monitor works perfectly at its full 144Hz refresh rate, and I'm able to enjoy all the features this premium display has to offer. For anyone considering this monitor: if you encounter intermittent black screens with DSC enabled, just disable DSC in the settings. This solved the issue completely for me while maintaining full functionality. Overall, this is a great monitor for the price. Excellent image quality, smooth refresh rate, and good build quality. Just be aware of the DSC quirk and you'll be very satisfied with your purchase!

Y Con Sus 38" Pfff!!! La Calidad Visual Que Aporta de 1080p a 4K y Viceversa; Películas, Juegos, Adobe, Todo, Absolutamente Todo Lo Que Sale del Panel de Este Monitor Es Sin Lugar A Dudas....... '' I M P R E S I O N A N T E '' Y No, No Es Fanboyismo En Este Caso Y Para Este Monitor En Concreto, En Definitiva ASUS Sabe Lo Que Hace Y Lo Hizo Como Dios Manda... Podría Decir Más de Lo Mismo Que Muchos Ya Han Comentado Aquí, Pero A Estas Alturas Ya No Es Necesario... Lo Que Si Es Que No Se Van A Arrepentir Para Nada ;-D

Check all the right boxes for me: - Large 16:9 format - Non-OLED, so no burn-in - Non-OLED, so BRIGHT even with 100% white - 4K - 144hz - RBG sub-pixel layout so PERFECT text clarity Sure it's not "inky black" like OLED but considering I don't need to worry about OLED-specific nonsense like burn-in or ABSL, I'm perfectly OK with the black level of IPS. Beyond this, everything else is perfect. Colours are rich, whites are bright, above avg refresh rate, VRR, clear text. 10/10.
