I tested this device when I first received it, I placed it on one of the gas burner and opened the gas, after two seconds, the alarm went off as expected. I installed this on top of the stove one foot from the ceiling. then something happened the middle one night, the alarm went off again and I checked all the burners and they all turned off , and I assumed it was a malfunction. The next morning, I looked behind the stove with some soapy water and find out there was this tiny leak in the wall gas valve . I was very lucky to have bought this alarm. The design is very pleasant , the alarm is loud, there are 4 quarter lights which point to different warnings and functions , There is a 9v battery for back up in case of back out. The price is very reasonable and I don’t mind buying another one in 3 years. I am putting one in the kitchen , one by the gas dryer and one more by the furnace

Easy to install. Best, when electricity is out, keep working. Needs a battery, that help to be safe all the time.

I tested this next to the gas burner. I can definitely smell the gas right away and it took maybe 1 minute but the alarm did sound! I bought it while it was on sale. Let's hope it works while traveling!

The media could not be loaded. I was told to purchase one of these through my gas company to detect both gas and co after I came in one night from work and smelled a strong natural gas odor. Come to find out I needed all the burners on my stove replaced. I then put this up and it started going off causing me to call the fire department and gas company a few times. The last time I called the gas company a new gas man came out. He said that because my main co and smoke detector did not go off it is either to close and is very sensitive or it's a piece of 💩.the gas man said this thing I use the detector I use cost $2,000 and is calibrated every month he said don't trust that detector send it back there is no way that it can do the same thing as his detector. Also he said that they have trouble with all these combo cheap detectors. It's going to get someone killed please Amazon please take these off your marketplace please this item is going to get some one killed. You can not understand the voice that is suppose to be saying what alarm is going off. It is so horrible I can't understand and don't know if the CO or nat gas leaking or if it's picking up something entirely different this is where this thing and others from China should be out lawed. I am beyond words and to see that Amazon sells this crap I don't think I'll bye anything else with them I'm done

I had no issues with this item. I tested it to be sure it works accurately and all went well. Easy to use and understand/read. Nice item to have in case of emergencies. Can be plugged in wherever needed.5/5 stars - tested item, worked as intended/described; requires a 9volt battery - great for safety/emergencies!

A "Service life: 3 years" is a direct quote from the instructions. This seems a bit low for an event that is hopefully unlikely in the life of your ownership of your house. I feel that this should have been emphasized in the write-up of the product and may certainly influence whether a person will buy this or not.The instructions also state that the detector has to be powered by 240v /50Hz power, but the case of the detector stated that it is good to operate on AC110v-240v (Presumably 50-60Hz.) power.It takes a 9v back-up battery.When you plug it in it goes into a countdown mode that when finished, make the detector operational.I have no good way to test the detector in a safe manner so I did not test any alarm modes.
