Don't spend more, get this...
A little pricey but works well! Be forewarned however, that when at rest, this handle (when extended all the way up) will cause an imbalance once the rider gets off the segway. This will cause the Segway to go forward on its own and will crash into something. The fix is to remember when dismounting, to ALWAYS have the handle in hand to keep it under control. No big deal at all, but it is worth mentioning. When using with the kickstand and the handle extended, it leans forward a far amount.Works well as a hybrid the knee control is spot on as the factory and when raised, feels like a full fledged Segway. An absolute MUST HAVE accessory in my opinion.

It's a compromise between versatility and function
The product is well made and works well. I like that it is both a knee bar and a handle bar. Handle bar mode must be used with caution as the mini segway isn't really meant to have one, which I explain later. Installation is the only major negative with this product.HOW IT WORKSIt is a collapsible stalk that transforms into a knee bar closely emulating what comes with the Segway mini. It can also expand into a handle bar. Either bar is only used for steering left or right. You still lean forward or back to drive.INSTALLATIONTo install you must entirely remove the original knee bar, which is clamped to a base, which is bolted to the drive unit. I don't quite understand why they didn't use the same clamp-on mechanism that the original bar uses. That would be so much easier. Instead they give you instructions on removing the base. The base is held on by two bolts and then you are supposed to carefully pry it off. This is almost impossible as it is on very tight.HINT: I recommend you take a heat gun on low, or a hair dryer on high, and warm the red plastic base for about one minute. (Be careful not to melt the plastic if you have a heat gun.) This will slightly expand the thing and it pops off easier. Then you attach the new bar to the drive unit. Other reviewers recommend lubricating the inside so it slides onto the drive unit easier. I did this but still had to pound it on with a rubber mallet.Installing took about half an hour and it is more or less permanent. You can go back to the original bar but you cannot easily switch back and forth.KNEE BAR MODEAs others have stated the knee mode is not quite as comfortable as the original but getting the height so that the middle of your knees touch in between the top and bottom part of the handlebar seems to be ideal. You have to get it just right to be comfortable. Also make sure you tighten the two knobs enough so that it doesn't move up and down if you pick up the segway from the handle.Self-balance in knee mode is possible by adjusting the "sensor" control in your app. Default setting will cause unit to roll forward so I had to change it.HANDLE BAR MODEHandle bar mode moves the steering control to your hands. You shove it left to go left; right to go right. You still lean forward or back to drive but holding onto the handle gives you a sense of security. Here is the word of caution. i think there is a reason Ninebot/Segway chose to use knees to steer instead of a hands. The curious "for training only" message plastered to this product also suggest this. Knees cannot grab, hands can. Why is that a problem? If you panic your first instinct is to jump off and hang onto the handle bar so your precious segway doesn't run off, or just to keep your balance. If you do this the segway tends to reverse course and run into you because you are pulling it back. Not fun having a segway try to climb up your leg. With the knee control you cannot grab it so the segway should stop on its own and you won't suffer a bruise on the ankle. So use handlebar mode with caution. Be sure to instruct newbies to LET IT GO if they must jump off. When used properly handle bar mode is quite comfortable and works well. You do feel like you have more control if you can hold onto something while driving especially if on rocky terrain or going over bumps. Once I learned to drive with my knees I haven't actually gone back to handle bar mode. For one thing having your hands free means you can carry swimming towels, hold basketballs, wave at people staring at you, etc.Self-balance in handlebar mode is not possible. It is too heavy and the segway cannot compensate even if you adjust the app to the max setting. So you will have to turn it off or lean it against something or get the kickstand attachment.MISCSince this attachment cannot easily come off travelling with your Segway is less ideal. The original knee bar pops off and the whole thing is rather compact at that point. It will still easily fit in a trunk or a backseat but it is more awkward.I find I miss the "powered assist" handle. The original knee bar has a lightweight handle that slides up out of it kind of like the handle on rolling luggage. This is perfect for pulling the Segway around. I wish this attachment had the same thing. Pulling it around in knee bar mode is difficult because you keep running into the wheels. Pulling it around in handle bar mode is easier but then you lose the self-balance and have to hold onto it constantly.Overall this product is great if you want a convenient handle bar and knee bar transforming Segway mini. Also good for people with weaker knees as it allows you to steer with your hands. But you will sacrifice some things. You may find yourself not using it anymore once you get used to riding with your knees.

Best handlebars for the Segway
This is the second set of handlebars I bought for the Segway, and these are my favorite! Very sturdy and very comfortable grips. The only thing you need to know is that it kills the warantee and if you let go when the Segway is on, it will take off until it hits ssomething. Other than that, this is great!

Great concept and Segway is exponentially better/more comfortable, but material used puts handles value at about $25, not $100!!
5 Stars for functionality and design1 Star for materials, specifically the lower knuckle where the handle attaches to the SegwayAs noted above, the handle functions very well. 100% improvement in handling comfort and control of the Segway Minilite. It now feels exactly like a full size Segway. Blows my mind that all the minis come with the stupid knee controller in the first place. The only reason I went with this handle over others is not for the hybrid capability to still allow knee control, but simply to collapse it for transportation. However, I was very disappointed to see the material used for the lower knuckle at the point where the handle connects to the Segway. The factory knee bar is a nicely machined aluminum piece that fits perfectly and slides right on and off easily with the bolts removed with a neat rubber cover over the recess of the attaching bolts. This ninebot handle connection point is made of plastic and literally has to be pounded on with a mallet (as per the instructions that come in the box!!!). I might expect that if I had paid $25 for this handle, but it is $100. My wife only paid $250 for the Segway Minilite itself from Amazon during a pre-Christmas sale. Having now paid more than 1/3rd the price of the Segway for a handle, I had absolutely not expected this cheap material with instructions to "hammer it on". Now that I have mounted it, I am quite convinced that there is absolutely no chance of removing the handle without damaging either the handle, or worse, the Segway. My guess however, is that if my child has any sort of mishap/crash then there is no question that the weak point is that part of the handle and it will likely snap off at that location making the remains easy enough to remove.Note the photos. You can see the precision made hole of the stock kneebar with aluminum attachment point with the rubber cover vs the large plastic knuckle with exposed machine head screws (which are black iron as opposed to nickel plated and will surface rust when/if they get wet). I had to tap the handle on in order for the bolts to even reach the threads. I then carefully alternated tightening the bolts to "draw" the handle on because I did not want to hit the Segway any harder than I already had with the mallet. The hybrid style handle which can be switched from handle to knee control (thought we don't intend to use the knee control much if at all) is an excellent concept, but that as well is made entirely of plastic components. It flips back and forth with a plastic cam/detent arrangement. What this means is that once you flip it back and forth a number of times it will surely get worn and floppy. Great concept, lousy cheap material. For these reasons I give the Handle 5 stars for concept and the fact that it really does make the Segway so incredibly much more controllable and comfortable to operate. But, the components, as I mentioned above, are something I would expect to pay a maximum of $25 for so I have to average in 1 star. Giving this handle a 3 star review is actually very generous because of the disappointing value.

Love this handle
I put this handle on my Segway and I have been taking it everywhere. I got it because I have a hip problem and using the knees to guide it became painful. So I got this handlebar and I have been going everywhere this summer - the county fair, the street fair and the park. Having a blast. The handle telescopes so it is easy to put into the trunk. It words perfectly for me. Only once did I have an issue with the handlebar telescoping down and that is because I did not tighten it like I should have. SO glad I decided to get this so I could be mobile again!
